Strange Family Names...

My cousin named her son Enis D (Enis rhymes with....well, you know and yep, his middle name is just D. It doesn't stand for anything).

My sister's name is Assunta. It's Italian for Susan, which is what we call her. She was named after our great-grandmother.

Also went to High School with a girl named Summer Winter Camp.

Israel is a very common old name in my family
My Grandfather's name is Roland
My Great Grandfather's name was Emile
My cousin is tentatively naming her unborn son "Zen River"
My Grandmother's middle name is Dorcas
We also have Olaf, Josephine, August, Clarence, Clemma, and a bunch of other names that are very old fashioned

Some of the "older" names just crack me up. I guess if you'd like an original baby name you can go back a few centuries...Omaha Coleman...Lula Lavina...Garlik Shuah Starbuck...Festus...Primo Mei...

My aunts, Fayona (we called her Faye), Iva, Aurilla (they used to call her Aurilla the Gorilla) my grandma's name was Ila, her mom was Mackie and my grandpa's middle name is Early. My two girls' are Remy and Holland and my SIL named her daughter Austin. We LOVE unique names in our family!

I had a fat Aunt Mary and a skinny Aunt Mary and yes, we called them that to their face. I loved going to my fat Aunt Mary's -- she lived in a mansion that was owned by a family that had an organ factory. Our town used to be the organ factory capitol of the world. Anyhoo -- the mansion was converted into apartments, to get to her apartment you walked up this huge spiral staircase. Her kitchen was completely tiled floor to ceiling. It was huge and it used to be the shower stall in the bathroom. In fact her entire apartment was at one time the bathroom.

No unusual names in my family. My cousin named her baby girl Madison way before it became the trend though.

Oooohhh....these names are unreal! My grandmother was named VIRSA NOY. Her sisters were ELDREN, CRETA and CLAUDIA AZALINE! My grandmother wanted to name my poor Mother LALA RIVERS but decided on LOUISE. She had a heart.

By the way, the nicest man in my hometown was named Mr. SNODDY. His sons changed it when they became legal age. My daughter's first grade teacher was Miss TIDDY! I nearly died!!! A friend of my grandmother was named OPHELIA BUTT. (oh feel your butt)

My grandmother's name was Mary Arminta! She HATED that middle name and really had NO idea WHY on earth her parents picked that name! Thank goodness she had about the only odd name in the family.

Was funny though that my Grandmother and Grandfather had matching names.... Harry and Mary, lol.
