I was wondering if any one else has this problem. I have the straightest hair ever, it does not like to curl. If i try to curl it, my hair falls flat within a few hours. Does anyone have any advice on how to do my hair for my wedding? I would like to leaving most of it down with some curls, but i do not want it to look too bad by the end of the night. Thanks! princess:

lots and lots of hair products! I have straight hair, and had curls for my wedding. Of course, my reception was outside at night and I don't think my stylist put in enough stuff, so most of the curl was gone by the end of the evening. When I want my hair curly, the best way is to wash your hair the night before and put a lot of mousse in it. Let it air dry overnight and you should have good texture the next day. Put more stuff in your hair (thermal protectant, more mousse, setting lotion?) and curl. My stylist sprayed something on each section of hair before she curled and set it. I don't remember what it was but I'm sure you can ask your hairdresser if you have one.

Just make sure your stylist uses a lot of stuff, and definitely prep your hair the night before. You can even braid your hair before you go to sleep after you've put in all that mousse...it will help make the hair more kinky and textured...better for a curl...

hth! :)

My hair always drops out too. So i had it up and just had a few curls around my face.

Lots of product, but if its humid it still might flatten out

i have real straight hair to & an hour after I put curl in , it goes straight, so I settle for waves.

I did mine up in pinned curls & I like how it looked....but I know the trend now is down....do some trial runs of different styles at a salon & see what you like best....for all you know it might be one thats up?:confused3

good luck

I have very straight hair that would not hold curl for more than ten minutes. After getting a trial and see if let limp after just a few minutes, I decided to have my hair up! My hair dresser said she would guarantee that it wouldn't fall out on the day of, but I didn't trust it enough to risk it! I ended up loving my hair in an updo, but I wish I could have had it down!! Good luck!

I wore mine up but the way she did the back it made it look like it had lots of curls. I had the same problem, I knew mine would go flat so i just changed my hairstyle and it worked out ok!

My stylists have all said the same thing...my hair was too healthy! How rare is that, and of course, it somehow works against me. I remember many years ago getting great curl with velcro rollers (I even had very long hair) but I also had the remenants of a perm (but you couldn't see it anymore) I think the chemical process "texturizes" it so it can hold better. Ask your stylist about a body perm, (months in advance of WD) no curls! Just "oomph" I'm thinking of getting one since my hair sucks, but it's been a long time, kinda scared it will come out curly 80's style. Maybe I'll go first and let you know

I'm only in the wedding party!

I was just talking to Ana w/Beaute Speciale and was telling her that exact same thing! She told me to have my hair cut in long layers and then have the length cut (before the wedding). She also said to have day-old dirty hair, not greesy but not clean, so it will hold better! She said the layers would add a bounce to the hair AND would allow the curls to be at different lenghts that way it isn't all weighed down by the length! Also, LOTS of product! Hope this helps! :thumbsup2
