Hey all!! Just got back from our trip to FW. Had a great time all in all. A couple of problems which I will explain.
Day one: Arrived at Fw on Sunday around noon. Now I know check in is not until 1 but just couldn't wait. When we got there they told us our site wasn't ready but we would be on the 1500 loop like I requested. They gave us the number to call to check on our site. Called at 1 to check and it still wasn't ready. Had lunch in the overflow parking lot. Yum Yum!!! Kept calling every 15 minutes to check on the site. Figured they would get tired of hearing from me. By 2 pm we had had it. It was hot and all I wanted to do was get camp set up and relax. (Bathing suits were in trailer and we couldn't get to them without opening pop up. Won't do that again.) We took the bus to the 1500 loop to look to see if there were any open sites. Got there and there were 5 sites sitting empty. They were washed down and everything. A site/loop worker saw us looking grumpy and asked if there was a problem. We explained everything to him and he told us he called the sites in as being cleaned 2 hours ago. He got on his walkie and told them "The Randall Family has waited long enough for their site. They will be going on site 1508 now." What a great guy. We went right up and got our trailer and set up camp. Finally around 4:30 we were done and relaxing with a drink.
We had ressies at Trails End for dinner at 6. I hate to say we weren't impressed with it. I know I didn't eat $18 worth of food. Oh well! Live and learn.
After dinner I decided to go to the Outpost and ask for a phone number or email address that I could call to complain about check-in to. They had the manager come out and talk to me. I explained the whole check-in situation with her. She told me that the number they give you to call to check on your site is a call center that isn't even located at Disney. For all I know I was calling Timbuktu. She said alot of the people who work there don't even know the difference between a site and a room. How stupid is that!?!? The manager did a great job of kissing a**!!!! She wanted to make us happy so they credited us one nights stay. (I didn't even ask for it) That gave us an extra $65 in my pocket. Cha-ching!!!
We decided to make it an early evening since we were going to Hollywood Studios on Monday. I would say by 9 we were settled in for the night. Hopefully the rest of our trip would be better. It sure didn't start off well. More of the trip report will be coming tomorrow. I still have some stuff to unpack and clean. Until tomorrow, Good Night!!!!!
