Stowing backpacks etc

Is there a "safe" area to stow a backpack while you are going on, say, Splash Mountain? I know that at Six Flags (can I say that here? ), people can leave their backpacks on the loading platform when they enter the ride and then pick it up at the end. Can you do that at WDW?

I don't think you can leave your backpack at the ride entrance. I have always taken my backpack on rides with me. I just loop the straps around my feet and put it on the floor. Even sitting on the front of Splash Mountain (thanks DH) it didn't get wet. I don't think you'll have a problem taking it with you.
