I am shopping for a possible new stove. I have narrowed it down to Frigidaire or GE (please, don't try to push another brand on me--I am not interested in the real high-end stuff and I'm not a chef).
Both of the ones I like have 5 sealed burners with cast-iron grates. They also have other neat features.
The Frigidaire is cheaper and has convection as an option. If you have convection, do you use it? I do like to bake.
Also, I can save money by NOT getting a warming drawer. Both have "keep warm" settings. I've never had a warming drawer and would be getting a storage drawer if it is not a warming drawer (no broiler, which is fine as I have never used it).
With the GE, there are two that are exactly the same except one is GE "Profile"--but it costs 150 more.
And colors--we have white now, but I'm sick of it--and as our appliances die we will replace with either black or stainless. I think stainless will not last as long--it may be the avocado green of the next few years--and I'm voting for black. Any opinions appreciated.

Which model# are you looking at?

I'm getting my new dishwasher tomorrow but I know that the stove and refrigerator will be next. I've decided on black for the dishwasher and will probably do the same with the fridge. The stoves that I'm looking at are mostly black but some have a stainless door front. Right now, my stove and fridge are white but my old dishwasher is black. The front on it can be changed to white but it just looks funny.

The only requirement that I have right now is that the stove has to be gas. When we replace the fridge, it has to be side-by-side.

I'm very interested in hearing the suggestions as well.
