Is anyone saving UPC symbols from Stouffer's for a discount of up to $100 off @ at Marriott Residence Inn? I'm wondering how good of a deal this could be. Any opinions?

Thanks,

I am saving them, too. I thought I would send for them as a back up for our Thanksgiving trip.

Where did you find this info?

When I went to the store to buy a Stoffers Lasagna for dinner it was Advertised on the packages to a win a vacation. On the inside of the non winning packages is the info on saving the UPC symbols for a discount of up to $100 off @ at Marriott Residence Inn's.

It says for a minimum of two night stay--do you think these have to be consecutive nights? Wonder who I can ask that question...

Good question! There is a web page regarding this promotion. I found it with a google search. It did not mention particulars regarding 2 night stay. I'm also wondering if you have to pay rack rate to get the $100 off.

Thanks for the info! I love the Marriot Residence Inns. I stayed at one last weekend. Of course they are not as good as Disney hotels, but in other states they rock!

Do you know of any along I95? We will be driving down from N.C. and we will probably break up our trip on the way to Disney.

Go to the Marriott website (www.marriott.com) and from the first page click on more search options. In question number one, choose from the drop down list, 'Along a route'. You can then enter your starting point and ending point and it will give you driving directions and distances. From there click on 'Show me hotels along my route' and it will list all of the Marriotts that are on the way.

Hope this helps.

Giving this a bump for more information. I tried posting on the Orlando hotels board asking if anyone had actually used their certificates from Stouffer's yet at a Residence Inn and have not received a response. I have a $50 certificate and a $100 certificate that need to be used by June and August, respectively. The fine print says "discount given on any published rate", but what exactly does that mean? Could I book a room with the AAA discount for 2 nights, then use the certificate to take $50 off that rate, or must it be rack rate? I am so confused. Looking to escape the cold weather for a few nights without spending a fortune. Thanks!

Thanks, tink, for the advice.

I'm a little slow-moving this morning, trying to get over the Panthers' devestating loss last night. I called AAA, and they were true-to-form...they knew nothing about the certificates, but I truly did not expect them to. I called the Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista, and the reservationist didn't have a clue about these certificates, and did not know who to call and ask. She was quite honest, though, and told me "I don't have a clue." Anyway, after re-reading the back of the certificate, I called the toll-free number listed(the one beside the statement "Reservations MUST be made in advance by calling...") I know, I know...Where's my sign? Anyway, this number is the Marriott chain booking number, and I was only quoted rack-rate once I told her I had a Bonus Bucks coupon(but she did know what they were). I checked room rates for 2 different weekends(one in Feb. and one in May), and the rates are: $114 for a studio, $130 for a 1-bedroom, and $200 for a 2-bedroom suite, NOT including tax. I was hoping for better room rates so DH and I could take a quick trip out of the cold...I think I can do better in one of Disney's resorts with an AP rate. Has anyone else tried booking using these certificates?

I'm not sure I understand - if you are staying 2 nights at $130/night, that's $260, minus the $150 would be $110, or $55/night. And that's for a one bedroom. I'd love to find a one bedroom WDW hotel for $55/night.

We were pretty happy except that our room smelled strongly of pet urine every time we opened our door. There were many dogs at the hotel. We did not want to complain as we have a family of 8 that I didn't want to have to pack up and move to another room. (We had already moved once and on the second room we didn't notice the smell until the second day when it hit us full force after returning from the parks.) With the number of pets we saw I would imagine your chances of getting a room with pet odors is pretty high. The hot breakfast would be ok for a day or two but it got pretty old fast. While it was great that it was included with your stay, it didn't compare to regular restaurant quality.
Coupon--person checking us in was great about it but the person who checked us out when it was time to pay up was as nasty as she could be. Fortunately, DH was able to produce something the check-in person had written ok-*** it!
Would I stay again? Yes, if it was the only way we could work out a trip to WDW. Even thought the breakfast was only ok--it was a nice break from taking care of things ourselves.

AirForceRocks-
I apologize for not being very clear. You can only use one certificate at a time, and since the $50 coupon expires first, I was going to use it for a quick getaway between now and Easter, but the room rates I am seeing aren't too good. I've never stayed at a Residence Inn although I am a Marriott member; my few stays have been limited to the Marriott Village at Little Lake Bryan. I was thinking I would spend 2 extra nights at the Residence Inn in June(after we check-out of the Boardwalk Villas) and use the $100 coupon then, since we will be a party of 6-8 and would need a bigger room then. But again, I am not finding good room rates.

YUCK! For the first time in my life, I do not currently own a dog(we had to put our beloved Golden Retriever down a few years ago because of severe health problems, and I swore we would NEVER go through that again---I still cry for him). As much as I loved him, I would not want to smell a dog's urine. Also, 2 of my kids are extremely allergic to dog-hair(hence our Golden was an outside pet), so we could not be in a room that had been inhabited by a dog. I am sorry for your experience. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of rates did you find when booking your room? The rack rates seem a little pricey for an off-site hotel, but I have never stayed at a Residence Inn, so maybe they are nicer than what I thought. It seems the rates being quoted on the Orlando board right after the LBV location opened were much better than they are now(or maybe I'm confused).

Gotcha, now I understand!

The kids and I stayed at a Residence Inn a couple of years ago on a trip to Alabama. It was very nice, and I was very pleased. We plan to stay for two nights at a Residence Inn near Seaworld on our trip down in August.

I think we had a internet rate of $139 a night . When we noticed the notice on the certificate that you had to make the reservation through the toll free number and that you had to tell them you were using a certificate I called and was able to keep my internet rate. The people at the toll free number just typed into my ressie that I would be using the coupon.
