For the last couple years I've been going to Storyteller's for our character breakfast. However, I've seen people rave about the Minnie and Friends breakfast at the Plaza Inn. What do you guys suggest? Is the Plaza Inn cheaper? What are the breakfast options? I love the Storyteller's buffet and my husband loves the Mickey Waffle. Thanks!

The plaza has a decent sized buffet with pastries, waffles, french toast, fresh fruit, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, cereal, made to order omelets, etc.

The plaza is a great place to see a number of characters. We've seen Minnie Mouse, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Fairy Godmother, Max, Capt Hook, Peter Pan, Chip, Dale, Rafiki, Honest John, Alice, etc.

We enjoy sitting outside & people watching between characters.

We loved Minnies! And they have the mickey waffles, too. That's what I got.

If you done one a couple times, I'd suggest trying the other. Also try to use Minnie's to enter that park early. That's a good perk of dining in the parks.

I have yet to do Storyteller's although I'm debating it for the first time in March. Possibly. But I can't speak highly enough of Minnie & Friends (although my absolute preference is Goffy's Kitchen). The buffet is also pretty decent.

Some of the characters I have seen are Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Fairy Godmother, Br'er Fox, Max, Rafiki, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale. I feel like I'm forgetting a couple of characters or two.

Minnie & Friends is great!! I highly recommend them! We really liked the menu choices there and we had amazing character interaction! :)

You can get a reservation for Minnie's an hour before the park opens. They will have one side gate open for people eating at Minnie's. You then get to eat and when you are finished you are already in the park without waiting in line at the gates. Not sure if it is a real time saver, but it is fun to get to go in and see the park all clean and empty first thing in the morning.

How does breakfast at Minnies get you in early?

Exactly as DLtorgo explained. Just check the DL schedule and make a reservation for an hour before the park opens.

Breakfast, and to see all of the characters takes a while. So if you finish early you don't get to walk into the park further. You do get to stay at the rope drop at the end of main street. So the treat is seeing the town square and mainstreet with nobody except other diners. Also you can look out at the Hub with none except a few CMs in your line of site.

If it's an MM day you can go into MM without needing or using a MM credit after breakfast.

I've done this at WDW too, it's a really great tip in the MK because the dining is across the hub which lets you wander the park a bit more.

...thanks I had not read the enire thread so I missed that. We have never done breakfastin the park as I figured it woould eat up valuable touring time..I did not realize it was open before the park
Thanks

We loved Minnies breakfast a couple weeks ago. I think it was 23 or 24 a person. I have pictures up in my TR titled "Wake up pooh". I didnt take pictures of the food itself, but you will see some of our plates in a few of the pictures. I really liked the omlette. They make it right there for you, and you can get whatever you want in it. All of the food was cooked right and tasted good. Its breakfast food so its not gourmet but I liked it alot.

There were alot of charactors there and they were all amazing with the kids. All play their parts well. I dont know anything about storytellers so I cant compare but I definitely liked Minnies.

We just got back and ate at Minnies..we went on a MM day and our reservation was the first of the day..at 9:10, so the MM crowd was already there..I guess if you go on a non MM day it could be a benefit. I like Minnies because there are just TONS of characters and the food is decent, but really, so many characters come by that your food will get cold. :) Nice experience for all (except the little one seen in my profile picture who was pretty much terrified of non face characters for most of the visit and actually hurled her wand at Minnie :scared1:.) She finally high fived Dale and that was a huge step..she liked the Fairy Godmother and all the characters in Pixie Hollow, but those big headed plushes freaked her out. We have done Ariel's Grotto breakfast several times and it is really nice with great visit time with the princesses. Next time with this little one we'll do that one. From a different grandkid group we do Ariel's since the little girl loves them and the little boy has a crush on Belle. :)

the little boy has a crush on Belle. :)

How cute is that?! Adorable!

My daughter will be almost 2 when we go and is starting to get into Tinker Bell but she loves the classic characters and the Pooh gang too. We took her Storyteller's when she was 13 months old and she really liked Chip and Dale. So hopefully she is still OK with the characters.

LOL how funny! But poor Minnie

Never been to Storyteller's so I can't say which is better. But I LOOOVE Plaza Inn. They also have the Mickey Waffles. I personally love the french toast! It's sooo good! And I love that they have an omelette bar. And last time we went, we saw a whole lot of characters! (About a dozen!)

My family loves Storytellers. Youy can get mickey waffles at the storytellers buffet, just let your waitperson know and they will bring them to you.

If you have done storytellers then go try Minnies. We did both on our Christmas trip and Minnie's was a delightful experience. If you want detail our review of Minnie's with pics is on my trip report (link below)

We are doing Plaza Inn this time, but we did goofy's kitchen last time. It was nice. Food was okay, and characters were fun. My son was still a bit small, but it was a nice way to end our trip...we got up that morning, went to Goofy's and then drove home....so at least he got to say goodbye properly!
