Last year, we did a late lunch at Goofy's kitchen. My 4yr old DS loved it. (It was the most expensive hot dog he has ever ate!) I thought we might try the Storyteller's Cafe on our next visit. Any thoughts or pictures would be appreciated.
:)

im doing both but if i only could do one goofys dinner was awsome i wouldnt do goofys brunch lol it just was better at dinner

The buffet choices and prices will not be much different at Storytellers than at Goofy's. But Storytellers allows you to order off the menu and forego the buffet, and they have some different characters - the 'woodsy' or 'jungly' Disney characters like Meeko, Rafiki, Baloo, Brother Bear characters, etc. I am partial to Goofy's, and love their food. I have been going there since 1992, but I would prefer Storytellers for dinner (check out their yummy desserts!). So I say, Goofy's for breakfast and Storytellers for dinner.

We've done both, and we enjoyed both. But each are very different. With a 4-year-old, he might enjoy Goofy's Kitchen more for the ambience. Storytellers may be better for you since you can probably order just a hot dog/mac 'n cheese/create your own pizza off the menu, but there would be no character interaction.

I must admit, that while I enjoyed the ambience and the desserts at Storytellers more, I enjoyed the entrees and salads more at Goofy's.

Difficult choice to make, and I probably didn't help you much :goodvibes -- but good luck!

We just did Storytellers a couple of days ago and later compared the price for Goofy's Kitchen, which was about double ($38@GK vs $23@SC) according to this site:

http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm#res

Plus as was mentioned above you can order off of the menu to save a little bit. I had the Denver omelet and coffee, which saved about $2 vs the buffet (I really like their omelet). DW had the buffet, which included coffee. (Both meals included juice.)

That being said, I was really impressed with the amount of character interaction at GK the one time we went there a few years ago. I'm sure that accounts for the extra cost.

Another option is the PCH Grill at PPH. The buffet price is about the same as Storyteller, but the menu items are much cheaper.

Thanks for all the advice! :cool1:

Unfortunately for my budget, they both sound great. I think we will go to the Storyteller's Cafe for breakfast one day and go to Goofy's kitchen for dinner. I wish they had character interaction for the dinner serving at the Storyteller's Cafe. I would love to try the Chocolate Fondue for Two.. ;)

The Goofy's Kitchen dinner is more expensive than the breakfast by several dollars and the dinner is not as good as the breakfast. Plus, it is more crowded at night at GK. Actually, in the past, all the breakfast buffets at all three places have been the same, pricewise - I checked all the prices last year and the year before. So, according to the PP, it sounds like something has changed price wise and now Storytellers is cheaper. Goofys will be about $32 per person for breakfast in the off-season, which is just about in the next week or so. Dinner at GK will be about five or six bucks more than that in off-season. Peak season has higher prices for both. It has been considered peak season up until now. Storytellers is where we are eating dinner this time, solely for the dinner options off the menu. That would definitely be cheaper than the buffet, but their breakfast buffet was the EXACT same price as the Goofy's breakfast buffet just last year in both September and December.

i disagree goofys dinner was GRATE best time best charcters best food.
Price might be more but well worth it grate food

I too prefer GK over ST for dinner....but just so you know...it changed to off season on Aug. 24 so all the prices have changed and will stay that way until right around thanksgiving and they will be charging holiday pricing till after the new year...

We did Goofy's breakfast the last time we were there and it was awesome, the food was outstanding and the character interaction was very good. We plan on going back again next year when we go.. My two DS's loved the food and the characters. :thumbsup2

And Goofy's breakfast is $32 per adult now, right? In summer, it was like $37. That is what Disneyland Dining told me. Actually, they told me that the off-season prices didn't kick in until September, after Labor Day, but I guess they were wrong (wouldn't be the first time!). But when did the GK breakfast buffet price become higher than the ST breakfast buffet price? Because, again, they were neck and neck for breakfast prices - on and off-season - last year.

yep your right its like $32 now and summer $37...I dont know for a fact why GK is higher but in my opinion its probably because its so popular:confused3

We have done Goofy's kitchen twice. First time the food was great, second time not so much. Characters were plentiful but rather hit and miss on our second trip. The place can get pretty noisy.

Two years ago we tried Storyteller's. The food was good and we very much enjoyed being able to order off the menu at breakfast. I had the stuffed banana french toast which was wonderful. The atmosphere was much more relaxed. There were fewer characters but they seemed to be better organized and made it to each table for a fair amount of time. They also played a round of follow the leader.

The few pictures I have are pitiful. My camera was on the wrong setting, after someone had played with it, but you can sorta get the idea of who we saw.

The characters were great! Chip sat on my son's friend's lap and had us all laughing hysterically.

Mariezp-Love the photos! You can see the pure happiness the characters brought to them!

Does anyone know if discounts apply to the Storyteller Cafe prices? I think I used my AAA discount for Goofy's Kitchen last year. Maybe I used my Disney Visa.:confused3 I don't remember. But I do remember that I was obsessed with getting discounts through any means!

We did both for breakfast in 2005.

Goofy's kitchen was fun. All the food was silly and good and the character interaction was non-stop and fabulous! Lots of great Mickey shaped food too. They even had the kids come and play music with Goofy with wisks and bowls and such... so cute!

The one at the Grand Californian was just okay. Less characters... they did come around but they were not the characters my ds really knew. We couldn't get him a mickey shaped waffle... I guess they were too upscale for that. ;)

All in all we definitely enjoyed Goofy's kitchen more.

Thanks. They would have been so much better if people would leave my camera settings alone.

I checked the Disney Visa site for discounts and Storyteller's is not mentioned. Mousesavers.com does not list AAA as giving a discount either. Looks like an AP may be the only way to get a discount.
