Story behind the little girl that sings "Wishes"

I am a former employee at the Disney world in Orlando florida. The song was made my a little girl that was part of the make a wish foundation. Her only wish was to be part of Disney forever. This is when Disney decided to allow her to record a song which was latter named wishes it has been played ever since.

Which has already been proven to be false - please feel free to re-read the entire thread, it has the info needed in it.

And for your first post you try to substantiate a story already proven to be false. Were you the same bus driver that told us that resort mugs are good for every future visit?

Honestly I really do think a lot of CMs make stuff up just to mess with your head and this is a pretty good head-messin' story.

I googled around a little and can't find anything.

I'd really like to know if this is a true story.

I doubt it.

Althoughif it is true, it is very touching.

DH & took the "Keys to the kingdom tour" this past december, and the CM guiding the tour flat out told us that a lot of CM's make up "tales" as to why things are the way they are....then she proceeded to take us behind the scenes of Hall of Presidents, and told us some VERY believable story about the carpet in the front waiting room... Needless to say, as everyone stood there with their mouths agape, she then laughed and told us it was a joke! :scared1:

Imagine how many times CM's do NOT tell us they are joking??
Especially those bus drivers! :rotfl2:

 for the OP, because I can imagine that this was a really hard thing to hear and would have made it even more of an emotional challenge to get through. That CM should be disciplined. This is a horrible rumor to be spreading and it's down right irresponsible too. Maggie

I agree, not something to joke as such about.
I doubt it was a joke, and the CM certainly shouldn't be disciplined for it. I would imagine it's simply a case of several stories merging together and becoming a touching urban legend.

There have been several Make-A-Wish kids whose dreams were to become recording artists, and I know of at least three who have recorded songs using the recording studio at the Roy O. Disney building at the Studios. It's entirely possible that one of those kids used the "Wishes" song as their recording track (since, after all, Disney has all the backgrounds and arrangements and such available to drop in quickly). What likely happened is that some CM somewhere was either part of that session or heard about it, and the story grew from there.

I'm sure the CM who passed the story along believed (or really wanted to believe) it was true and passed it along as a bit of "insider pixie dust". But really ... it's implausible as told. A child recording a song and then passing away two days later? If the story had been that the child recorded the song and then passed away "shortly after" or "several months later", it would have been more likely.

:earsboy:

old post alert

+10 I'm wondering why Wingatewesley even brought this up.

Usually when I see a post thats dredges up an old thread and its their first or maybe post 1-10. I immediately think spammer trying to get their post count to 10. But its usually a "Me too" or "Great Idea" kind of post that adds nothing to the thread.

Not sure what the angle is here. :confused3

Yes, this story is true, I have family that has worked behind the scenes with Disney and was told this many years ago. Except I do not think she died two days after I think it was a couple of weeks.

All you know that is true, is that you heard this story years ago, not that it is a true story. Unless you can come up with some other evidence.

Did you even read all the posts?
