Planning a trip for Thanksgiving (Nov27 - Dec2), and wondering what to expect the water temp at Stormalong Bay to be? We probably won't have alot of extra time (cramming alot of holiday touring for the 5 days), but curious in case kids won't leave me alone!!

I think that all of the pools in WDW are heated.

One year we went in February and it had been pretty cool. We were staying at POFQ. But, it would not have been a vacation without going in the pool. So we all went in. The water was warm, but the evening air was cool. We could see the steam rising off the water.

I was at WDW over Thanksgiving 1985 and swam, and we were there in early December 1998 and was able to swim.

We were just at the Beach Club 5/25 - 6/1. And, while at Stormalong Bay, our favorite pool in the world, we asked the lifeguard that very question because we were hoping we could go back for Thanksgiving. He said they keep it between 78 - 81 degrees. Sounds good to me!!!

Not sure yet if we're going - may have to wait until next year. But, hey...isn't Stormalong Bay the greatest??????? Anybody else out there have tons of pictures of it? We do.

Have fun. What a way to kick of the Christmas season.

:o I hope we'll be able to get in at least once. We stayed at the BC last year and my kids loved the pool area, but two of them were still too small to come down the big slide w/o floats, and they talk often about being to do the big slide with their older brother the "next time". I'm afraid that we're not able to handle cold pools at all here on the Coast of Mississippi. We stop using our pool here at home around the first of October! We need at least 80 degree water, and probably warmer if the air is cooler.:D

PamNC--
That's good news. Your post went through while was working on mine!! If that's the case, we might be able to handle it. I know we usually have on shorts and short sleeves for Thanksgiving here, and WDW is about 5 degrees warmer than our home. Seems like the temps are mid-70's around that time.

I think it'll be warm enough for you. the lifeguard told us while we were there last month that the temp was about 78 degrees. He said in the "colder" months they usually turn it up to 81 depending on the temperature. I'm sure it'll be 80 or close to it anyway.

We went in December once. Didn't stay at YC/BC, we stayed at CBR. And, we were able to get in the pool. But, of course, it's not as warm in NC as it is in Mississippi so maybe we're a little more tolerant.

Have a great time. Are you staying at the YC or BC? We've stayed at both, but the BC is our all time favorite WDW resort.

PamNC,

We've got ressies at BC, but are waitlisted for BCV on DVC points, so either way, we'll be staying at the BC property. :) Glad you were able to get that information about the temperature.

We stayed there in Feb. a number of years a go and the temp was 82 degrees, air temp about 70, the kids stayed in all afternoon and no one got sick! YEAH!!!!
