I was speaking with a CM about a reservation at Vero Beach in the Spring. We are beginning our trip in 2005 at the BCV for a couple of days and I asked if there were any rehab plans for either resort. She said that the info. that she has noted that work was scheduled in the fall of this year for SAB, probably November.

I posted this info. on the DVC Board and DIS poster Scratch42 learned the following:

"SAB is going into rehab in phases.

First starting November 1 - 23rd

Second, after Thanksgiving, November 23rd until the 22nd (I am assuming December since no month was mentioned)

These two times involve the Flag Area. As I am new to SAB cannot really say what this entails but she did say the Flag is coming down. Can someone clarify?

The last phase is January 2 until February 25th!

Letters will be going in the mail to all that will be staying there."

My information is from a Cast Member at CRO. There is a thread on the DVC Board that you can read, including the one that I posted in this thread confirming the information.

Wasn't Stromalong Bay rehabed 3 to 4 years ago?

The last time I toured YC/BC, I noticed that the floor/bottom of the pool looked awful, it was cracking and peeling. I assume this is what they'll be rehabbing.

We'll be staying YC CL in December so I checked with my Itinerary planner, Annalisa. She said that the rehab will involve painting different areas of the pool and will not effect the pool as a whole or the slide. She did say that the slide will be down from January through February.

Tracy

Tracy,

I sent an e-mail to Annalisa asking the same exact question. We'll also be there in December and the pool was the deciding factor on choosing that resort. I was happy to hear that area's of the pool would remain open during our stay and that the slide would still be available.

Tammi

Tammi,

I know what you mean about the pool being the deciding factor. I was dreading telling my 3 kids that it might not be available for our trip:( Even though it'll be December, my Northeast children will be in the pool everyday!!!!

Isn't Annalisa the best!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

SAB was had a rehab just a couple of years ago. What they usually do is to do a section of the pool at a time so they do not have to close down the whole pool. But sometimes they have too. The last time they just closed down the slide.

Why did she say that the pool slide isn't affected and then turn around and say that it will be down Jan-Feb? The slide was just rehabbed Jan 03.

kathleena,

I think she might have just meant that the slide wouldn't be down during my or Tracy's scheduled stay in December.

We were staying at the BC August 2003 and SAB was beginning to undergo rehab. We were a bit concerned when we arrived and saw that part of the pool was closed. However, since the pool is so large we were still able to swim. THe slide was open so the kids were happy. The only thing that bothered us was the loud noise of the machinery.

Would anyone who has YC or BC concierge be willing to call and ask for the whole schedule?
