Does anyone know how much pool tubes rent for? Also, are you allowed to bring your own pool tubes to float around in?
Many thanks in advance.

Hey Chim - I am going tomorrow and will be back on the 6th. I can check for you on those prices/questions

The tubes rent for about $10 each for the day. You are better off going to walmart and buy a tube for $8- $10 each. Besides, you don't want to use a tube that has been used by a person who has an offensive body odor. I was ther a couple weeks ago and believe me, I did encounter people using the pool with B.O. yikes

Chim Chiminy,

Prices are $3.00 per hour or $10.00 for day.
You are allowed to bring you own.

Thanks for the tip everyone. I never thought about the tubes, I thought they were free. I think I will purchase from home and bring them with us. You guys are the best!

Does anyone have a picture of an appropiate tube? I'm picturing a hugh black truck inner tube! At $10/day we'll go broke!

They are clear plastic with handles. Similar to the water park tubes for the lazy rivers. There is also a double (two-person)tube, but I'm not sure of the price.

I believe the price is the same for the 2 person or 1 person tubes. At least when we were there, I rented two tubes and the attendant said I could take anyone I wanted....

Someone here very recently posted that "bring your own" may no longer be OK. They said that only clear tubes were OK so the lifeguards could see through. This confused me as the resort tubes are bright colored but definitely not see-through. Just to be on the safe side, I bought two at Walmart for under $2 each that are see-through colors in case this is some new Disney policy.

Thank you everyone. I knew this was the right place to ask!:Pinkbounc

We just stayed at YC during our trip last week and we saw both the clear and the yellow colored round tubes being used and rented at SAB. We did not see anyone bringing their own tubes to use, everyone was using SAB rental tubes except for babies and little kids with the round kiddie floats, but we saw plenty of people bringing their own pool noodles, us included. We like the noodles just as well and find the pool noodles easier to use when SAB gets crowded. They also rent pool noodles but I have no idea what the price is.

I think I'll call before I go just to make sure. It won't hurt. I will post what I find out.

Hey MAC3 -

We just got back from BCV and spent lots of time at SAB. We did NOT see anyone with their own tubes - they were all the SAB clear rentals (singles and doubles) for adults, and some solid yellow tubes for children.

We didn't even bother to rent one - my offspring are both decent enough swimmers that they didn't need them, and we enjoyed floating around the circular path just as much on our own.

Next time we may try one.

Thanks for the update AreWeThereYet? Anyone else have any info about it?

I'm looking forward to an answer on this one as well. $50 a day for 5 tubes that we normally bring anyway seems a bit high.

Captain,

I have already bought ours, I will call before leaving but I am going to bring them and if it is a problem I'll pack them away and trust me No one from my family will pay $10.00 a day per float. Maybe I'm cheap but I think that's outraggeous?

That's like a dinner a day. No thanks I was just thinking about the kids. But they will be just as happy with the sand.

We always pack blow up noodles. You can get them at Walmart, they are see through orange, green and red, I forget the brand name. two of them make a comfortable water seat and they don't take too long to inflate. They seem more versatle and comfortable than tubes.

Oh Yeah - We asked about this (pool tube rentals) to see if it was one of the DVC member perks. We were told "no" but "it sounds like a good idea". Perhaps we can petition those in charge of member perks to see if this can be added. The most tubes we ever saw in use during the week was less than a dozen at a time. And most of these were in the center pool.

How do we go about getting someone with "power" to look into this? (Free rentals for DVC members!!)

:smooth:

BWV has already started giving free pool noodle rentals to DVC members, maybe the other resorts will follow.
