This is what the Great Falls in Paterson normally look like (photo not mine, taken from centercitypateson.com). My previous files are on who knows which computer.

This is what it looked like 2 hours ago when I took these with a point and shoot digital. I'll update when I get the film developed from my Rebel, if I got better shots.

And this is a debris field at the bottom of the falls.

These shots are not photographically perfect, I just thought I would post some storm pictures of a historic area.

I wonder if the water was over the banks during the height of the flooding. I think the waters are receding now...I have some interesting pics of an area of a river in northern NY that has a dam release - the difference is amazing. These pics remind me of that area.

I think I will have to take some pics next storm - I am usually working during them and can get to areas the general populace can't get to.

Holy Cow! :scared1: Surf's up. That's some nasty looking water.:guilty:

Great photos! ::yes::

was it just a rain storm or worse? i evidently am out of touch with the news... interesting photos though

The entire east coast just finished up with a HUGE Nor'ester that dumped anywhere from 3" to 9" of rain (or up to 20+" of snow) depending on location. Winds up in the Hurricane Cat I range also. Flooding & damage all up & down the coast & interior. NH is still under State of Emergency due to rain & snow melt off; flooding; power & phone outages. NJ hit awfully hard with flooding.

Thanks for sharing those pics!

Indeed we did get hit pretty hard! Those pics are really good - Tiggr33 told me she is planning on taking more - maybe a series??

I wasn't able to get out of the south end of my road for 3 days this week because it was completely flooded over so I was having to go a longer way around in order to get to work (which is south). Yet in the western mountains, Sugarloaf Ski resort for example has received 95" of snow this month, in April!! What a crazy month it has been!!:eek:

But today through Monday it's supposed to be near 70 and maybe even warmer...warmth and sunshine at last!!!:beach:

I am trained and certified in water (flood) damage. The next coming weeks are not going to be pretty. The "hot spell" of 80 degrees we are supposed to get may actually be BAD for the areas that have flooded. It will promote mold growth, unless steps have been taken. Many people still havent gotten their basements dry, and now they face a bigger problem. There just isn't enough drying equipment or qualified people to go around.

Good point tiggr33, I hadn't thought of that so I guess the storm isn't necessarily over for everyone.
