Stories of CMs spreading pixie dust

Love your stories, everyone!
This is not big, but it meant a lot to us.
Last summer I was at MK with my DS who was then 4. His older sister couldn't wake up early, and would join us a little bit later. We were getting fastpasses for Peter Pan. He "helps" me by collecting the passes in the machine. When oly 2 came out, he said "we need 3!" I explained that we could only get 2, and he could ride with his sister. He said "but I want us all to go together!" A CM heard us and gave us another fastpass, saying, "it is more fun to go together." She made my son so happy!

I have a pixie dust story. :)

SimonV and I were at Pow Wow last week, the big U.S. travel trade show held in Orlando this year. It's a 4-day event, culminating in a big Farewell Party at Disney.

I'll be blogging it at another site, but wanted to say here that Jonathan at Animal Kingdom was my Hero the night of the party. SimonV and I had just come into Dinoland from Africa and stopped to try the skirt steak (the food, so far, had been incredible). We did not find this particular dish to our liking, so we high-tailed it from our table to the Mid-way games. Unfortunately, I left my cel phone sitting on the table.

I won't go into the details, but Jonathan went so far above and beyond to reunite me with my phone, including making 3 calls to the phone, which the guest who picked it up (but somehow couldn't be bothered turning it in to security) answered. Jonathan was kind, patient, and persistant. Althought I hate that phone and plan to replace it at the earliest possible opportunity, I need it until that time and because Jonathan wouldn't give up, I have it.

He gets my unstinting praise and my deepest gratitute for bringing some magic into what would otherwise have been a real personal (and business!) tragedy.

We were having a character breakfast on the first day of our vacation at Artist Point at the WL (back in 1999). It was me, my DH, and my MIL, who is totally blind.

As we were being seated, I mentioned my MIL's disability to the hostess CM, so that she would not lead us through any "complicated" walkways. As we were eating breakfast, Eeyore approached our table; he immediately leaned down beside my MIL's chair, took her hands and placed one on his nose, and the other on his ear. He very patiently stood there while she "saw" what he looks like with her fingertips.

It was her very first trip to WDW at the age 67; the CM that took a few extra moments to tell Eeyore of her disability truly made her day. She began collecting plush Eeyores upon our return and now has a houseful! :)

There have been many fun and surprising moments on our various trips but the one that stands out the most in my mind is was when, years ago, we had a vacation planned and we were staying at CBR. My middle DD was seriously ill. I called WDW and explained the situation and they not only pushed our ressie back for us without a problem, they told us to keep them informed if we couldn't make it and stated there would not be a penalty.

We did end up making the trip and our DD turned out to have something other than what the doctor's thought and we went on our vacation relieved and thrilled that she was going to be okay. Upon checking in at CBR, we were asked by the CM about our situation and we shared our story with this person.

The next night we arrived back at our hotel room after a day at MK and when we walked in our room we found two baskets packed to the rim with cookies, a keepsake photo album, stuffed Mickey for my son and Minnie for my daughter, disposable cameras and more. They were both topped off with Mickey mylar balloons. There were cards on the table as well that were addressed to our kids and signed by Buzz and Cinderella.

We immediately thought that one of our parents or other relative had sent the baskets but after calling them to "thank" them, we discovered that no one knew anything about them. Not one friend or relative had done this.

So, that night, we came to the conclusion that it was a special CM who had taken our situation to heart and made this trip extra special for us all. I still believe this to this day because there is no other explanation. :wizard:

sniff sniff...what a nice story. I am really glad your DD is okay.

How sweet, I got tears in my eyes reading this one. ;)

I forgot the best one. Last July in DL, Peter Pan was my DS hero of the year. All he wanted was to see Peter Pan. We looked high and low. We were sitting on a bench outside of the castle in Fantasyland when Wendy and Peter Pan came skipping up the path. My DS wasn't fast enough and by the time he'd got his book out for signing they were gone. We ran after and DS saw them on the carousel. I saw a CM nearby and asked if Peter Pan ever landed long enough for autographs and explained my son's love of PP this year. She waited for the carousel to stop and got PP and Wendy and the next thing we knew they came up to my DS and DD and took their hands and off they went skipping through Fantasyland. They did finally stop and sign autographs, but I bet they spent 5-10 minutes with my kids talking and laughing. That was the highlight of the trip. I only wish I'd been quick enough with the video camera. Got some cute pix, though.

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one who isn't quick enough to think of breaking out the video camera!! It's a wonderful memory, to bad you don't have it on video. Hopefully next time though... :)

It was DD's 4th birthday and while waiting in line to meet a character, DH started talking to a CM about nothing in particular. He mentioned that DS6 really wanted to meet Peter Pan and had been looking for him all week. He told us where he should be and later right after the parade, we went to find him. We asked the people at PotC to call the chip hotline and they said Peter would be out in 5 minutes. Well. we waited 15 minutes and no Peter. We had them call the chip hotline again and were told they didn't know why Peter didn't come out but he should be out again in 20 minutes. Well, DS insisted on waiting so we waited and waited. After 25 minutes, the earlier CM we had met came with another cm. We asked them about Peter and they said he was getting ready for the Spectroparade and wouldn't be back out. I explained that we had been waiting for 45 minutes because the hotline said he was coming. The did some checking and confirmed that Peter wouldn't be coming back out. They did take his autograph book and got Peter's autograph for him. They proceeded to give DS and DD a pin. I asked if Cinderella was in the parade because DD wanted to say good bye (we were about to leave to go home) to the princesses. They found out that Belle was in the castle in her gold gown and they escorted us thru closed areas into the castle to meet Belle. On the way, I had mentioned that I still needed to pick up the Belle and Beast dolls for Lauren's birthday. After meeting Belle, they escorted us to ToonTown and up the back entrance to say goodbye to the characters there. We thought those two CMs had left as we were talking to Cinderella. They came back in the back room and presented Lauren with those $40 Beauty and the Beast dolls that she had wanted for her birthday! Then they asked DS what he wanted to ride and escorted us over to the speedway. Talk about feeling like VIPs! We wrote Disney to thank them and sent them a picture we had taken of DD and them with the dolls.

I splurged and treated my DW and I to YC Consierge the first week in May just passed. It was our 33rd anniversary. I mentioned that in passing to Hyacinth, the CM who checked us in. The first evening the was a knock at the door and we received two balloons tied to four candy bars, an autographed picture from Mickey & Minnie personalized for our 33rd along with a beautiful YC Happy Anniversary pin.

Unfortunately, they had spelled my DW's name incorrectly (put an "e" on Ann). The next morning we spoke with Marcia @ the CS desk and she said it would be no problem to replace. In the conversation, it came up that we are both dog lovers and we mentioned our yellow lab, Trixie. When the replacement photo from Mickey & Minnie arrived late that evening, it also had a personalized, autographed pic from Pluto to Trixie - a very thoughtful touch!

I don't know if that was worth 500 a night (more Crispy Cremes than you can shake a stick at!) , but we'll frame the pic & pin to hang in our family room which is decked out in Disney - on further review, perhaps it is "priceless"!

Hello Everyone, my son is a huge steam engine fan, and the first thing we have to do after checking in is go to the Magic Kingdom and ride the steam train. A few years ago when he was 7 we found a seat on the last car of the train, He was so excited to be back at the Magic Kingdom but especially back on the train. Well a Cast Member noticed his excitement and asked if he would like to be "Guest Conducter". Our Son who is not shy in the least jumped at the chance. The Cast Member had him calling "All Aboard" and pushing the buttons to start the recordings on the ride. We ended up riding all the way around back to Main Street Station, and then onto Frontierland with him as "Guest Conducter" all the way! He absolutley loved every moment. By the time we arrived back at Frontierland Station he had a bright red face and was so excited that I was starting to get concerned that he might actually pass out. We got off the train and he thanked the Cast Member, I wish I could remember her name, for she had did something that might have seemed minor to her but was the high point of his whole trip. He had a perma-grin for the rest of the day and he still smiles from ear to ear whenever he remembers it.

I have 2 great stories...

Last May, we were in DTD at the big Christmas store. I was getting an ornament personalized for my dd. The cast member asked me how I spelled her name, and I said H-A-N-N-A. I then noticed that her name tag showed that she was from the town where I grew up. I asked her about it & she said actually, she was from another town, M_______. I said, that is my birthplace! She asked what my maiden name was, and I said, "Hanna...that's why my dd's name is Hanna!" She asked if I was any relation to R_____ & E______ Hanna. I almost fell over....those are my grandparents!!! How amazing is that! She used to work for the newspaper & wrote many articles about my grandparents!! Not sure if that qualifies as "pixie dust" but it's definitely Disney magic!!

Last Sept., we were at guest relations because I had lost my AP. The CM helping us was enthralled w/ my dd...her blond curls, blue eyes, and the fact that at 3 she talks like she's 8! So we took the time & had quite the conversation with her. That night, when we arrived at Le Cellier for dinner, we had a huge box sitting at our table. We thought they brought it to the wrong table, but then we noticed a 5x7 envelope on it, addressed to my dd. In the envelope was a 5x7 pic of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, & Pluto, signed to Hanna w/ love, and their names. Inside the box was a huge stuffed Mickey Mouse!! We were soooo shocked & THRILLED to receive some AWESOME pixie dust from a CM!

I can't remember which ride it was on in Fantasyland. My daughter was 2 and she always carried "Andy Pandy" a little stuffed panda bear around with her. Getting off the ride, we hadn't noticed that she had lost him, but she was clearly upset about something. Then we noticed the ride stop, and a few seconds later one of the CMs emerged with Andy who had fallen down the side of the ride track. It was just a little thing, but it was so important to dd and by extension to me and dh.

These stories are AWESOME!

Here are my little stories:
1. Last year at MNSSHP my dd6 was dressed like Minnie. At one of the candy stops, the cm said "Oh, the boss's lady, better keep her happy" and have her several huge handfuls of candy. My dd felt so special.
2. We were eating at CRT and my ds12 was acting too cool when the princesses came to the table. Until Wendy came. She was really talking to him and asked him how old he was . He said 12. She said she was twelve too and that he was not too old to have his picture taken with her. He loved the attention and my dd6 loved seeing Wendy fuss at her brother.
3. Waiting for the parade at MNSSHP I started talking to a cm who was making balloon animals. He was making a Donald Duck and drawing quite a crowd. My ds11 that was with me was definately the oldest child in that area. When he finished with the balloon, the cm said, " I plan to give this to a special someone if they can answer one question correctly." Then he looked at my son and said what's your name? He told him and the cm said "that's correct!" and gave him the Donald Duck.
I love Disney.

This is why Disney is the best place on earth! :) What special stories! I love hearing this kind of thing. :goodvibes

We went last Sept and it was our first trip. Our son was 2 then and just in awe of everything. We were celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary on that trip and had been given the special buttons to wear. We thought those were great alone..lol

Several special moments while we were there. First, our first night at Liberty Tree and we go in and they announce to everyone that it is our anniversary and we go to the table to find the confetti heart. Just really cute. Then we also got this at Crystal Palace along with a cupcake and a Magical Moment card which we really treasure. :) Then at Le Cellier we got a special anniversary desert plate which was just amazing. We were so shocked that so many people would go out of their way to make us feel special on our celebration.

Then as a result of having the buttons on we were stopped all day to have people congratulating us. We were in MK at one of the pin stores looking around when a CM saw our buttons and asked how many years we were married for and we told her 5 and she said to the other cm, maybe we should give them a magical moment and give them the anniversary pin. SO they took it off the wall and gave it to us. It was so sweet. We were in shock, I was in tears..lol

Then we were in another shop looking around when my son spotted a Pluto pin on one of the cm's lanyard and he kept pointing at it all excited saying in the best way he could "yook, mama, Puto". The cm thought it was so cute he took it off and put it on my son. That was so touching to me.

So we really had some great moments while there that we will never forget and they just made our trip all the more wonderful and special to us. :)
