Stores that still have decent selection of swimsuits?

DH and I are going away for the weekend and we plan on spending time by the pool (first time this summer!)

I'd really like a new swimsuit but I've been looking around this week and it seems that everywhere is sold out already! Ideally, I'd like to find a tankini top since I have some bottoms I still like.

Has anyone seen swimsuits around lately? My Target has a few but the ones I've tried on aren't ideal. I've had no luck anywhere else! Who knew they'd be so hard to find at the beginning of August??

Thanks!

Last year in August, went online and mail ordered a suit from LL Bean last year and got a wonderful suit that fit me perfectly for little of nothing. I bought several, tried them all on (in the privacy of my own bedroom with my DH's advice on how he thought they looked) and kept the one that fit me best. I then returned the others to Sears for free.

A few years ago, we needed a bathing suit for DD late in the year, way out of bathing suit season. We found a decent selection at the sporting goods stores like Dick's. They may not have the most stylish stuff because they cater to swim teams and such, but you can always get a suit there, even in the middle of the winter.

try lands end. You can order a bunch and return to ones you don't want to a local sears.

We leave Saturday, so ordering online unfortunately won't work. I haven't checked Sears stores yet, though. Maybe I'll take a look tomorrow. Dicks sounds like a possibility too. Thanks!

I don't know if there are Kohl's near where you are, but I just had to buy DD a new suit for our trip next week and although they were on clearance there were quite a few in left - I saw them in all the departments not just the kids. Hope you find one!

I think you mean Lands End- you can't return Beans' stuff to Sears :)

I would try zappos.com they ship and return for free and they ship over night to boot.

I can tell you that I got a suit and they sent the wrong one. When I called they spent 1/2 hour on phone with me trying to find either on their site or another site the suit I wanted(the one they shipped was not what I ordered and the one I ordered was the last one). The person on the phone told me pick any suit I wanted from their site....FREE! She got it to me in less than 24 hours.
Their motto is "powered by service". Trust me I will shop there from now on. If you get something and it does not fit all you need to do is put it back in the box and ship it back. You do need to call so they can e mail you the return ship label but it is so easy. Much easier than going to the store.

I just got back from our local Target and they had tons and tons of swimsuits. But I see OP you said you didn't like the ones at yours. Have you tried Sears or JCPenny? Belks has nice selection as well. At least in my town.

LOVE Zappos. But you don't have to call to get your return label. Just log on to your account, go to your order and click the item you want to return and print your label. I use them A LOT!

OP here. Found my tankini top!

Kohls had nothing left. Macy's had a bunch but none that were really flattering. Finally, I found the perfect one ap JCPenny... On clearance for $10! Score!

Thanks for all the suggestions!

One lesson I've learned: if you're going to be picky about your swimsuit, buy early!

Whoops! That's what I get for posting before I finish my coffee! Thank you!

Macy's still had a lot of suits when I went 2 weeks ago. And I would think they will all be on clearance soon.
