Stop the E-mail!! HOW??

I want to get an alert on the boards when there are new posts in a thread I am following...but I don't want to get an e-mail to let me know about them. How do I keep the alerts (on the boards) but stop the e-mail notifications???

I don't get e-mails when I receive an alert. The only thing I could find was in the "Preferences" settings. There's a box to check that says "Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply...: with another box to check that says "and receive email notifications of replies" I have both of those unchecked.

You do need to have first box checked to check or uncheck the second box.
