Stop staring at me Phil! A Vinylmation stalking(with a side of *sparkle*)9/19 TR END!

After I met up with my mom at the finish line area, I hobbled my way to the EPCOT bus area (of course POP is way at the end) and we made our way back to the room. I tried an ice bath, yes it’s just like it sounds!! I was SO sore and this is a little gross, but my feet were covered in blisters. Painful to walk on and just plain gross!!

I talked my mom into calling a cab for our next destination. I am so glad we made this decision, we were off to have afternoon tea at the GF!! My mom loves all things tea related and I thought this was a perfect idea for our trip. We made our way over to GF and were greeted by the sweetest older man, I want to say his name is Richard…correct me if you know who I am talking about because he seems to be a little famous over there!! I explained to Tim this man is exactly what you expect in a Disney CM…just made me smile talking to him :goodvibes

I have not been to the GF since I was much younger and my mom has never been there, at least not that she remembers. We were both in awe when we walked in the lobby…it is just beautiful in there, everything about it was beautiful.

SAM_0454.jpg

We checked in for tea and were seated fairly quickly. We decided to each order a tea, plus we ordered a cheese & fruit plate, and my mom ordered scones. I wish I had taken pictures of our tea and our table and such, I was just having a great time with mom :goodvibes

After our tea we took the monorail to MK and a bus back to POP. I kid you not any person that would even look like they wanted to talk my mom told them I just finished the marathon that morning…and if they seemed even slightly interested at that fact, she proudly announced it was 26 miles…etc. I embarrass fairly easily, but I knew she was just so proud of me, which made me very happy. We were in bed early that night, I felt bad but my mom was very understanding and she paid for internet at the hotel to entertain herself on her laptop.

The next morning we woke up and were off to EPCOT for the day! I was very excited to see if I could get my mom on Soarin or Test Track…she passed on both last time.

These guys greeted us at the entrance

SAM_0455.jpg

SAM_0456.jpg

We went straight to The Land building and I waited outside as my mom offered to grab us fastpasses for Soarin. I felt bad because she is a new to using fastpass, but my feet were killing me and plus it was good practice for her for the September trip when she would be without my help

She came back and did a great job getting those fastpasses…somehow I just started walking to Test Track and convinced her to get in line with me. I think we waited 15 to 20 minutes for it. My mom seemed very nervous about it, but the lady who was put in our car in the front row was also nervous, which in turn made my mom feel better for some reason. A nice girl probably around my age was placed on the other side of my mom in the back of the car. She was so sweet and said afterwards “I’m that crazy random uncle in your family photo now” this cracked my mom up!!

My mom really enjoyed test track, she liked that the cars sat low she felt very secure and she was very proud of herself. After our wedding my parents, aunt, and 9 year old cousin are staying at WDW for a few days…my little cousin she is not scared of any ride and usually I go with her on rides…but my mom is so happy she can at least take her on a few herself and be ok.

We walked around Future World some more, rode Imagination and Finding Nemo…seems like it was getting a little crowded in EPCOT this day. Spaceship Earth had a huge line so we skipped over and were going to try it later on in the day.

We went back to use our Soarin' fastpasses and only waited about 10 minutes. We were put in front row middle, so excited, best seats!! My mom is afraid of heights, but she LOVED it. She loved each scene and the smells and didn't mind the "heights" at all!

We headed towards WS and passed by Club Cool…my mom had never been there before so we stopped inside. It was a little crazy in there, but we tried all the different sodas…she didn’t really flinch at the Beverly and I told her I was a little concerned her taste buds might be off :rotfl:

The Christmas tree was up and beautifully decorated

SAM_0459.jpg

We started in Mexico around WS…we didn’t ride any of the rides…we just wandered and were trying to decide on where to get lunch. We just couldn’t decide on something, so we headed towards Japan to try that out. On the way we purchased caramel corn from Germany..so good!! :goodvibes

When we reached Japan we spotted the candy maker and had to watch…so impressive!! We ate at Katsura Grill for lunch. I got the teriyaki steak and my mom got the chicken. We both had the green tea. The food was ok..it tasted a little like what you would get at the mall food court honestly and the green tea well didn’t really taste like anything.

SAM_0460.jpg

We headed towards France where I just had to get Grand Marnier slush…yummm!!

SAM_0461.jpg

While I was waiting for my mom to get an ice cream I was enjoying my slushie on a bench when I saw a familiar DIS face and started waving like a crazy lady. Of course Jenny (dismagiclover) and her husband didn’t know who the heck I was, but I couldn’t get words out :lmao:

I introduced myself and we chatted for a while about marathon weekend, her trip report from last year about running her first marathon got me thinking about the Disney marathon and well I ended up doing it!! Of course we had to get a picture together, I was so excited I ran into her (and excited she spoke with me after waving like a lunatic)

SAM_0462.jpg

My mom and I stayed to watch the French acrobatic show and then we were off to the Swan and Dolphin hotel via boat to check out my wedding location

SAM_0463.jpg

On our way over to the Swan and Dolphin, I spotted a really cute character that I have never met before. I pretty much ran over to her and was second in line to meet her

SAM_0464.jpg
SAM_0465.jpg

After a nice leisurely boat ride over to the Swan and Dolphin we made our way over to the beach area where Tim and I are getting married. So excited!

SAM_0466.jpg

It’s a little less private than I expected, but we are going to make it work :goodvibes

After checking out the wedding location, back to EPCOT we went and did some shopping. We also checked out Spaceship Earth on our way out of the park.

SAM_0472.jpg

Except for someone taking flash photography it was a great ride as usual!!

We hung around POP that evening…had a nice dinner and POP has lots of good food choices that I never knew about! We got this little beauty as dessert to share

SAM_0477.jpg

The next morning was we woke up and headed to MK for our last full day at WDW…so happy to see Christmas decorations again

SAM_0478.jpg
SAM_0480.jpg

What do you think, can I make it big in show business?

SAM_0481.jpg

Had to get our castle picture

SAM_0482.jpg

We rode Peter Pan, Philarmagic, I rode Space Mtn alone, TTA, Pirates, and more. We also ran into a CM dressed in plain clothing testing out the new Sorcerer game in MK :cool1:

I was pretty excited about my Buzz score…highest for me ever

SAM_0485.jpg

We had a blast on this ride, but TSM is still mom’s favorite, we call this picture crazy ladies

SAM_0488.jpg

We ate at Cosmic Ray’s for our lunch…very yummy

SAM_0489.jpg

Cool views from the treehouse

SAM_0491.jpg
SAM_0492.jpg

We had the BEST Jungle Cruise skipper…only us 2 and 2 others on our ride spoke English, so we were the only ones laughing!! But it was still so much fun!!

SAM_0493.jpg

After LOTS of great shopping on Main Street we bumped into the afternoon parade, how fun!!

SAM_0495.jpg

We were right where the parade started and entered onto Main Street

SAM_0497.jpg

SAM_0500.jpg

We headed back to POP, we had a great dinner again, relaxed around the room and packed our things up for our flight out the next morning. It was odd we had all day to spend at the park, but even taking it slow we did everything we wanted to before dinner time most days. It was nice to just spend time together

When we woke up, we decided to both book bounceback offers for my wedding trip in September. Anything that helps to save money!! After checking our baggage, I had a CM take a picture of us, my mom thought this was a cool ride

SAM_0505.jpg

We had a great ME ride back and flight home…I had a hard time getting adjusted…but wedding planning has been keeping me busy!! All in all it was amazing spending that time with my mom just the two of us!!

Up Next: Back to my trip with Tim…do you remember him? I’ll help you remember with the next update haha

Great update, Shannon. I am sorry about the blisters, but sounds like mom took care of you. What fun days in Epcot ( I love Marie and the Grand Mariner slush) and MK. So glad your mom liked Test Track. Did she end up doing Soarin'?

Great update! Ugh, sorry about the blisters, that sounds awful! My first trip with Brandon in 2008, my feet were covered in blisters, it was awful! :sad2:

Sounds like you and your mom had a lot of fun at Epcot! That's awesome that she liked Test Track! :thumbsup2 I love your Epcot shirt, I really need to get an Epcot shirt on my next trip, I love Epcot so much, I don't know how I don't have one!

Your MK day looked like fun too! :cool1: Oh and your wedding location looks beautiful!

She really did, I felt so bad making her wait on me, but she was so great about it :goodvibes

I just added something to my post about Soarin', I totally forgot, thank you for reminding me :goodvibes She LOVED it...the music and different scenes with the smells, she is afraid of heights but that didn't bother her at all!

I now understand why some people carefully plan out their footwear for Disney!! it was so painful to walk..and feet gross me out to begin with :rotfl:

I actually got that EPCOT shirt on my trip with Tim...which I need to go back to :rotfl: but CMs were even complimenting me on it . I am surprised you don't have an EPCOT shirt!!

Lol I remember the bus stop being too far away as well and that was without taking part in a run! :rotfl: Ugh at the ice bath!

Glad you enjoyed the Afternoon Tea - sounds like something I wouldn't mind trying :goodvibes

Sounds like you had a fun day at Epcot. Lol at your mum not even flinching at the taste of Beverley!

Yay you met Marie - she's awesome!!! :thumbsup2

I love Marie! I first met her back in 2010 and was SO excited because I had never 'met' a character from Aristocats before!

So do you recommend the tea for couples? It sounds like something i'd like to partake in, but not sure if DH would do it...

BTW, your mom is so stinkin cute!:cutie:

Sounds like you and your mom had such fun! Reading about you two having fun makes me really excited for my upcoming trip.
Glad your mom enjoyed TT and Soarin' It's pretty hard NOT to love Soarin' though. It's pretty awesome!

I love your 'I Did it" shirt that you wore on your MK day!

That Pop dessert looks so good!:thumbsup2

Aww, you got to meet Marie! I missed a picture with her yet again this past trip... the line was so long. I'm super jealous now!:goodvibes

I see what you say about the privacy of the beach, but I think once everything is set up it will feel much more intimate.

The picture of you and your mom on Buzz Lightyear is AWESOME!:thumbsup2

Congrats on the run, and I hope you survived the weekend snow without any issues. Heard it was pretty bad down there. We didn't even see a drop of rain!:sad2:

It looks like you had a great time with your mom. I'm glad you were able to get her to try Test Track and Soarin'... and even more importantly, I'm glad she enjoyed them.:lmao:

Your unexpected DIS meet sounds like a lot of fun. Not sure how I might respond to a stranger yelling at me, but that's neat that you got to have an unplanned meet like that.:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I look forward to more updates from your other trip with that Tim guy. :rotfl:

Somehow I missed this update, but I was very excited that you waved at me and you didn't look like a crazy person. I can't believe I didn't immediately recognize you because I've read your reports. I was spacing that day. Anyway, I love having unplanned DIS meets! It was great meeting you and fun to hear about your race. When I walked away I said something to my DH like, "I think she got the idea to try the marathon from my report last year." My DH said, "She probably hates you for that.":rotfl: So fun to meet you! Enjoy your wedding planning!

I never realized just how far that bus stop was :rotfl:

The Afternoon Tea was so nice, my mom really enjoyed it too, and GF is so beautiful!!

I can't believe she didn't think it was that bad, Beverly is just terrible!

I love Marie! I first met her back in 2010 and was SO excited because I had never 'met' a character from Aristocats before!

So do you recommend the tea for couples? It sounds like something i'd like to partake in, but not sure if DH would do it...

Marie was so adorable, I love cats to begin with so she won me over!!

I did see couples really enjoying the tea as well! They had some drinks besides tea, I saw some enjoying wine I believe and champagne as well. DF just can't stand to sit still at WDW thats why he probably wouldn't like it, but I think it was a great break

Aww thanks, she is pretty cute :goodvibes

You are really going to love being with your mom there, it was so fun!
Even though she was afraid of heights, she loved Soarin! I was so happy!

Thanks :goodvibes I am excited for it to get warm enough here to wear that shirt again

The line usually is so long to meet her, luckily we caught her when she was just coming out

My mom said that same thing about the beach as well, I agree I am sure it will feel more real when its set up

We were having so much fun on Buzz I forgot it took a picture!

It was 70 one day, snowed the next, and melted the following :rotfl: we just stayed put while it snowed and we were good!! Glad you didn't have to deal with it!

It looks like you had a great time with your mom. I'm glad you were able to get her to try Test Track and Soarin'... and even more importantly, I'm glad she enjoyed them.:lmao:

I look forward to more updates from your other trip with that Tim guy. :rotfl:

I am so happy I got her to try new rides, I think going alone with me pushed her to try

It was great getting to meet a fellow DISer randomly!! :goodvibes I don't mind looking crazy to do it :rotfl:

I might have to remind everyone who he is :lmao: I never take this long to finish a report, whoops!

Somehow I missed this update, but I was very excited that you waved at me and you didn't look like a crazy person. I can't believe I didn't immediately recognize you because I've read your reports. I am SO happy I ran into you at EPCOT, it was great to meet you in person!! It was your TR that made me think I could really do it, and I did, not fast at all but done :rotfl: I could have cursed you all through the race and after, but thinking back and when I got emotional I think it was the most wonderful decision ever!! I am so glad I read your TR and did it :thumbsup2

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to work on this report, I really hope I still have people interested in reading!!

Ok so remember Tim…yeah he’s this guy I met over a year ago and we went on a trip back in October to WDW for a week :goodvibes

We were working on our second day at the parks. Our first day we flew in super early, went to DTD, and stayed up all night at MNSSHP. On our second day we were up bright and early for EPCOT rope drop.

At this point we had made our way to WS after riding some rides. We were making our way around the F&W festival. We had already tried some amazing foods and were on to more!

I forgot to share before, we snapped a picture before heading to the WS

Photo0123FourBySix.jpg

I don't remember when we took those, but some of my favorite photopass pics during our trip came from Morocco, it was quiet and such a pretty area

Photo0111FourBySix.jpg

Photo0115FourBySix.jpg

I saw Jasmine while we were taking our pictures and I was following her, because I thought she was going to a spot to take photos, but she was going on break..whoops :rotfl: She did take a second to correct Tim and tell him it was only Monday and his shirt was wrong!

We stopped at Singapore’s booth and we found a bench in front of the American pavilion. I could tell something was up with Tim, he seemed grumpy. I finally dragged it out of him. He was just really tired and it was pretty hot out that day. So we took some time to rest and relax. Plus he didn’t really enjoy the food from Singapore either, he had the coconut braised beef with jasmine rice.

We made our way through WS heading towards Norway where we rode Malestrom. It was around a 15 minute wait and it moved slow, but it was nice and cool inside. Tim had never been on this ride and we had fun with it. We stopped in the store on our way out to take a couple pictures

SAM_0559.jpg

SAM_0561.jpg

We made our way to Mexico, I requested a margarita stop! I love all of the different drinks around WS, but have a hard time drinking alcohol during the day it really hits me harder than during the night. But I LOVE the pineapple margarita. Tim ordered the blue one. I asked if they had a margarita flight and they let me order it. I wasn’t sure if it was on the menu, it was fun to try all the different flavors

I still loved pineapple the best and Tim liked the blue one best but agreed pineapple was very yummy

SAM_0562.jpg

Tim never gets very tipsy, I mean we have tried to test his limit and he is always fine, but this margarita really did a number on him :lmao: We boarded the boat ride…Tim barely remembers it if you ask him now, so it’s like he has never been on it still! I really enjoy the ride I think it’s nice and relaxing. This is the first time I have seen it with a line though!

After our margarita mishap or adventure depending on your opinion, we had some time to kill before our dinner reservation at Le Cellier!! We decided to do a Kim Possible mission, we completed one in the UK. We had a ton of fun doing it; the only problem was other groups doing the same mission so we had to wait our turn on different things and could see what was happening

We checked in at Le Cellier and it was packed. We waited at least 20 minutes, we took a photopass picture but we don’t look ready in it :rotfl: I was hoping it would come out better those gardens are beautiful!

Photo0126FourBySix-1.jpg

We were seated at a small table by the entrance ramp, I was hoping we would be in the dining room more, but I was still very excited! It was our first time at Le Cellier. I had tried the cheese soup before during F&W festival and we got two bowls to start. I swear this could have been my meal alone with the pretzel bread and I would have been SO happy! Soooo yummy! We also ordered the martini sampler to share

SAM_0563.jpg

SAM_0564.jpg

Tim ordered the ribeye with parmesan potato wedges and I ordered the mushroom filet, except I asked for mashed potatoes instead of the risotto

I LOVE my steak still rare, but this was still VERY rare for me so my only regret is that. Otherwise both of our meals were just delicious! It was worth the price and wait and I would definitely go again. It was very yummy!

SAM_0566.jpg

SAM_0567.jpg

We were going to try and grab a spot for Illuminations, but we were both exhausted and decided to head back to POP. We stopped for some pictures on the way out

Photo0130FourBySix.jpg

Photo0131FourBySix.jpg

Love all the pictures of you two...you look so happy!

Glad you enjoyed your meal at Le Cellier! How was the martini flight? I was thinking of trying it the next time!

Wow, an update!

I love your Photopass pics! I never see PP photographers at the countries, maybe I'm there at the wrong times?

UGH wasn't the food at Singapore disgusting??? I mean, it wasn't like "eh, this isn't very good" it was HORRIBLE! Like, so bad that it actually made you a little angry! (Well, me anyway!)

That margarita flight looks awesome!

Yum, Le Cellier! I love that place!!!

Just joining in and I'm all caught up! I love your Monsters Inc. shirts and reading about MNSSHP is getting me so excited for our upcoming trip. Christmas is my favorite time of year at WDW, but I've never been in the fall before and I think it may top it! It sounds like your wedding will be very similar to how mine was - our's was at Crescent Terrace, but very casual and only 35 guests. I can't wait to see your's on the beach! Oh and HM is my fav ride, too! ...I could go on and on! lol

I might have to go to Mexico and ask for the margarita flight... that looks like a great idea.:thumbsup2

I'm glad you enjoyed your meal at Le Cellar. We had our first experience there and I loved it. I considered doing what you did and ordering mashed potatos with my filet instead of the risoto, but I decided to try it. I have to be honest, I enjoyed the risoto almost as much as the steak. I was pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to go back.

Yum on the margarita flight! I agree, that Blue one does pack a whallop!:lmao:

It seems the general opinion on Singapore coconut beef thing is run like heck if you see it. Will make a note of that for our next trip......

The picture of you two in front of Morocco is fantastic! I hope one day we run into a PP there, we haven't been so lucky yet, and it's my favorite pavilion visually. :good vibes

:lmao: on Jasmine "correcting" Tim.

I have finally caught up on the updates!
Yay!! Good job on the marathon! That is so awesome and you should be sooo proud of yourself:cheer2:
Yum! Yum! A margarita flight and martini sampler! They both sound delicious!!!:thumbsup2
