I experienced one of these parents on our trip just this past May. I was in line for Dinosaur by myself (I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 6 month old) and this lady gets in line right behind me with her petrified 5 year old daughter. This girl was crying a begging her mom to please let her go and wait with her dad and the mom just continued to tell her that it was not scary and if she didn't go on she would miss out, the mom even asked some teenagers who were in line behind us to tell her daughter that the ride was not scary and they said "well but it is pretty darn scary" and the mom still kept telling her daughter that it wouldn't be scary. Well when we got on the ride lucky me got to sit next to this little girl and let me tell you by the time it was over she was in hysterics and about as white as a sheet, and her mom is sitting there apologizing saying that she didn't realize it was going to be that scary. So while I can see people coaxing their kids on rides like Pirates knowing that once they get on they will have fun and truley won't be scared please if you're not sure if a ride is too much for your kids go on it first and check it out for yourself. I'm sure that poor little girl on Dinosaur had nightmare's for weeks and probably refused to go on any other rides. She definately wouldn't have trusted her mother's opinion on a ride again.
