Stop being silly over PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN

People that age don't really have valid opinions though. If you taped a tigger plush to a shopping cart and tossed it down an escalator, kids would think it was the greatest thing ever.

Thats a bunch of garbage. If a child whether he be 2 or 10, prefers Alladin over Dumbo, thats a valid opinion.

Anyone who actually takes the time to listen to a child knows they have a valid opinion on EVERYTHING. And I have noticed that children’s opinions are often intellectual….take the time to ask a child why they think what they think. Their opinions are not clouded by bias as adults

I personally think that POTC could use a spruce up…..as well as some more action.

I wonder what George will think of the rehab?

I agree. I think children can be insanely intelligent. The things I hear come out of the mouths of 4 year olds stun me; people don't give kids enough credit. Personally, I think that once they hit about 3rd grade it goes downhill...they stop thinking as much for themselves and begin to assimilate into society. Education is incredibly important but I wish they allowed kids to maintain a little more individuality through elementary school...if they did I imagine our world would be a lot more creative and a lot less close-minded and judgemental.

They were not supposed to be permanent. You are correct.
Mickey's Birthdayland at the Magic Kingdom was designed to last only one year. It proved to be so popular it was carried over as Mickey's Starland for a couple years. It's now "semi-permanent" meaning that while all the utilities have been dug in place, there are no plans to replace the "temporary buildings" at any point (until they collapse I guess).

Disneyland's ToonTown was designed from the beginning as a permenant expansion of the park.

Anyone who actually takes the time to listen to a child knows they have a valid opinion on EVERYTHING.
The concept behind all of the Fantasyland attractions was to allow childern (of all ages) to interact with the characters they had learned about through Disney movies, books, records and television shows. They are not supposed to be carnival rides in their own right - no child cares about the mechanics behind the thing, all they see is Dumbo flying through the air.

The moment the ride is only appealing because of the tot-sized thrills it offers, or because it's based on this year's kiddie-pop trends, or because it's in pretty colors - it stops being a Disney ride and just becomes another shopping mall ripoff.

Is it the same as the old one form Imagination called Makin Memories? Cause I love that song and we'd be in a fight.

Shouldn't I be allowed to have a different opinon that yours. If I don't like something can't I express it? Shouldn't I be able to do this without threats? Yes "we'd be in a fight" is a verbal threat, not nice...sorry your so hostile. However, why should I be any different than the others you fight with on a constant basis here? Do you even enjoy these boards? Just curious.

Two of my nephew’s favorite attractions at DW are Tom Sawyer Island and Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. We have a Six Flags “the thrill rides capital of NY” practically in our backyard, he is board there after one day. Yet we travel almost 2000 miles for him to spend a week paying in a tree house and on a little island. Disney wins hands down because they do not belittle children’s brains and they know the importance on imagination.

You've got to be kidding me.
I'm not even going to respond beyond suggesting that you google the phrase "we are so in a fight" and learning about cliches. :rolleyes2

Yeah, my 5 year old has some very interesting things to say on the pros and cons of consumption taxes vs. income taxes.

Hey, YoHo, I wanna see that shopping cart on the escalator thing! Do we actually get to ride in the cart?

So you are nothing but a cliche? Is that what you are saying? Still it wasn't a nice thing to say, offering up a fight, like some alley cat. You love to provoke people. I just thought I would state an opinion different from yours and see what would happen. Thanks for biting the hook!

Take THAT, YoHo, you big bully. Don't go threatening anybody else here over any lost tuneful melodies.

Makin' memories
makin' memories
takin' pictures is
makin' memories
catchin' little pieces of time
makin' 'em yours and
makin' 'em mine...

Although is has been documented that many people had a violent reaction to the lyrics of the 'Computer Song' from the old UNISYS show at Epcot.

So, you stated an opinion different from mine and I made a joke about it and somehow you've proven a point?

Umm, you didn't disagree with me, you made a statement about the Kodak preshow and I made a joke about it. Apparently, you decided to get offended which quite frankly makes you look silly. Especially since we aren't even talking about the same song.

But, if you think that you've made some grand point and put me in my place, then far be it from me to disuade you.

Its not about putting someone in there place. Its about respect. You 'chimed' in about something you were unsure about..ok. BUT then you threatened me, with a fight. joke or no joke. I have a great sense of humor, and I can laugh at myself etc. I just don't think your comment about we would have a fight was appropriate, no matter how intended. Be respectful debate in an adult manner, show respect, show some pride in yourself..don't stoop to childish threats.

No, you did not get threatened, I typed out a pop culter catch phrase.

We're in a fight. It's a standard pop culture catch phrase used on TV, in the movies and in everyday life across this country. It's comical. You're apparently ignorant of that and decided to make an issue of it. And further, after I explained the meaning of the phrase, you still seem to hold on to your offense as some sort of defense.

It was a joke based on a pop culture reference. You didn't get the joke, now you have had the opportunity learn about it and understand. I think it's time to move on.

And anyway, sinc eI don't even remember the movie or song in question, we aren't even in any sort of fight anyway.

It would be nice to get back on topic now.

OK. You guys have had your warning (several pages back) and I'm now going to close the thread. Not only are you all WAY off topic, you can't even be nice to each other now - perhaps my cardinal rule on the R&N board.
