Stomach virus or something else?

Update on page 2-I have had abdominal pain since Friday evening. I have not had any vomiting or diarrhea (sorry). Do I need to go to the doctor or just hope it goes away soon? Just thought someone might have some insight.

I never had appendicitis but that came to mind. Did it start around your belly button and then gravitate towards the right side? That is a common symptom.

However, I did have a virus this summer like that. Felt stomach aches and had the chills but no vomiting or diarrhea. It lasted for about 4 days getting slowly better each day.

If you have that sixth sense something isn't right, go to urgent care. It's your health after all.

Feel better soon. :flower3:

Thanks, it really hurts when I move, I am thinking uti, even though I don't have all the symptoms.

What other symptoms do you have?

It could be a kidney stone, ovarian cyst, appendicitis, a virus, or many other things. How much pain are you in? If it's really just a little achy then I might wait until Monday morning, but really after this long you should be checked. The fact that you're NOT vomiting or having diarrhea makes me question it being a virus.

To me, it seems to be a lot of pain lol. I do not have much appetite, but what I do eat is staying down. The pain seems to lessen after I take ibuprofen.

Go to the doctor first thing in the morning, or today if possible. For sure, go to the ER if it gets worse today. It's persisted for a long time. If it were a stomach virus it probably wouldn't hurt worse when you move.

I agree with Mrs. Malone, please go to the doctor. You shouldn't mess around with your health.

Before my appendectomy, my side just felt sore and I had no appetite.

If you have persistent pain, see a doctor.

Thanks everyone. I am heading to a local clinic this evening. The pain just won't stop.

That would not be "stomach flu/virus".

Since it is not going away, I would err on the side of caution and go see your PCP.

Thanks everyone. Just an update- I went to the clinic on Sunday and was misdiagnosed with a bladder infection. The next morning, I felt worse so went to my doctor and after an x-ray, he said I had a kidney stone, but wanted a ct scan to be sure. The next morning I felt better and even stopped to vote before the scan. The scan revealed that my appendix had ruptured. I had emergency surgery yesterday. The surgeon says I am progressing nicely. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

OMG, I am so glad you went to your own doctor after your misdiagnosis and that your doctor ordered the scan!
Thank you for the update and I hope you'll have a smooth recovery.

Hope you are out of the hospital soon. My dd's ruptured earlier this year and she was in the hospital for 8 days. Glad I didn't give my opinion earlier - it didn't sound like the same symptoms my dd has.

Feel better :flower3:

OMGoodness - so glad you are on the mend.

Oh, wow! Glad you got checked out! Hope your recovery is smooth!

Wow, glad you & your dr kept looking for an answer. Glad you are on the mend now!

Wow, that could have turned out badly! Glad you finally got the right diagnosis and treatment:thumbsup2
