Stomach Bug Question - Warning - kinda gross

DD woke up with a terrible stomach bug this morning. Throwing up frequently. I'm afraid of catching it because if I throw up once, I can't stop for days.

Does that happen to anyone else? Is there some way to stop once you start?

A lot of people say nausea and vomiting can be controlled with your thoughts. Maybe you can get online and find a couple tricks.

Other than that, get a prescription for Phernergan. Its a suppository (ew!) but it works sooo well! Just pop it in (ew!!) and you go to sleep and wake up feeling much better! Every family should have a stash in their fridge.

Anytime my kids come home with it, I get it, my wife gets it, and the kids get it again. Viscous cycle. We clean, wash, and all that good stuff. I don't think it can be avoided when you are that close to it. Referring to the clean up efforts and all.

But good luck, I hope you can keep from getting it.

I can actually will myself not to throw up. I have this odd fear of choking to death so I manage to keep it down. Even if I know I will feel better by just letting it out, it won't come up.

As for the virus, I hope that your daughter feels better and that you don't catch it.

I never heard of this. It sounds like a miracle to me. I will definitely keep it in mind. I have MS, and anytime I get sick, I get it worse than everyone else because my MS symptoms flare too. Nothing worse than throwing up non-stop for days when you can't even hold yourself up.

HAND WASH, HAND WASH,HAND WASH!!!!!!!! Scrub everything she is in contact with and HAND WASH, HAND WASH,HAND WASH!!!!!!!! Don't let her use the same toothpaste and keep her toothbrush separate. Buy her a new one when she's better!

Many stomach bugs need to run their course and taking anything that stops the process will stop your body from eliminating the bug.

We have 5 kids and have kept stomach bugs from traveling through the family by being meticulous about cleaning/disinfecting/handwashing! Good luck! Hope she feels better!
