Stomach ache

Okay this is my second medical question in two weeks.

First of all I cannot drink liquor at all makes my stomach hurt very bad!

Once in awhile I will get that same type of ache even without drinking.

My stomach has hurt like that since Monday night. HORRIBLY BAD I can't hardly stand it. I almost went to the ER last night but don't want to seem like I am making a big deal out of a stomach ache. I called my dr today but he never called me back. So... ER visit or no big deal?

I thought mine was stomach -- wound up being gall stones. Used to bother me with fried stuff and pizza.

Well............... They gave me two Prilosec and some nasty tasting drink and I laid there for 2 hours and they sent me home. I don't really feel any better but they said you need to take the Prilosec for a few days before you notice a difference. Want me to go to my dr for more tests think it is probably an ulcer. My one after another diet coke days may be gone! thanks for caring!

I was going to say stomach ulcers from your description, btdt. Definitely treatable, but a pain in the butt. Wonder why they didn't do an endoscopy to be sure?

My stomach still hurts bad. I just called the er to see if the prilosec should have started to help at all. Also I have tightness higher in my chest. They are looking at my chart and calling me back. Most of the reason I went in was so I didn't have a night like last night and her I am having a night like last night.
Who knew at 40 everything fell apart?

It can take up to 2 weeks for the Prilosec to work (if it will even work for you). Sometimes it takes two Prilosec a day. The chest tightness could definitely be due to acid reflux. You really need to get into a general practictioner and have a bunch of tests done to rule out other illnesses. Most likely it is your stomach, though. It can really mess you up if you don't care of yourself. Go to a doctor and get under their care. The ER is not a place to stay with to treat a condition.

My mom is going through this now. Exact same symptoms, however they also tested her blood and was found to have a very common bacteria in it that causes peptic ulcers. She was put on a pill therapy treatment pack of several pills a day. If the bacteria isn't gotten rid of it will continue to cause the problems and the tissue will not heal. She also has the Acid reflux the gives her problems too, its not fun. Best of luck.

If you go to the doctor again, ask about a urine test, specifically ask to see if there is microscopic blood in the urine.

A terrible stomachache for that many days could also be a kidney stone.

might want to ask your doc to test you for H.Pylori. I had a really bad stomach ache for several weeks....I thought it was an ulcer, but turned out it was the HP....
