Stoller question

DS is 6 and has said upfront he thought he would want to ride in a stroller at WDW. I'm fine with that because I would rather spend extra $$ to keep him from getting tired and cranky and making it a difficult trip for everyone. I looked at renting but to be out $80 to rent I might as well just buy a nice one and keep it. I mean who knows maybe I will be able to talk DH into going again next year. Since he is older and weighs in the low 40 lb. range I found a nice jogger stroller at a pretty good price and I think I've decided to just buy one. And in case your concerned about us getting off and on the bus we are driving and will be in our own car going back and forth to the parks. Anyway my question is what kind of measures do you take to keep someone from taking your nice new stroller? I know I have seen people mention putting ribbons or scarves tied onto them to identify them but I figure if someone wants it they can just take that off and throw it away. I have a friend that monograms things so I'm debating on taking the canopy to her and letting her monogram our last name on there or something. Has anybody ever done that?

Have you purchased it yet?

We kept an eye out at the thrift shops and found a double jogger in great condition for $25. That's the one we are taking on our next trip.

If you have, mostly people put discernable markers on the strollers so it's easy to find/identify. Unfortunately, if someone really wants it, they're going to take it.

We have a really nice stroller that I put a large "C" on the top to help us identify it and to discourage others from taking it. This stroller has gone to Disney several times and has come home each time. ... but as the last poster said, there is always a risk.

I would go with the personalization... heck, it can't hurt! :flower1:

I agree look in your local resale shops for a good deal. If you get a really good deal you could just leave it at Disney for another family by posting it on here! Then you do not have to bring home a stroller you do not need!!

We have had nice strollers at Disney and never had a issue. The last time it was a brand new one (bought it online and had it delivered to our resort) and no one bothered it.
I am sure there is a risk but not something we were to worried about. Sometimes they get moved around and u have to look for them so something to set yours apart from others is a good idea.

Also I had seen on here before locking your stroller up... do not lock it to something this is apperently not allowed at Disney, but someone had sugested locking the back tires together so they would not move far without lifting it, this would make someone take notice of a person rolling a stroller around on the front tires in a park!

I would also look at 2nd hand store and sites if u will not be needing it again.
