Will be renting a stroller for my five year old granddaughter. She will be doing some walking. Staying on site at shades of green. I'm wondering...just how "uncomfortable" are the "hard plastic" strollers that you rent in the parks? Just seems like this might suit my needs better so I don't have to haul the stroller on the monorail and busses. But honestly I just don't know which way would be better. We plan to stay late for shows and fireworks etc so she will be doing some stroller napping. Advice please?? Just can't make a decision.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the strollers from Orlando Stroller rentals. They manuever so wonderfully and my 2 1/2 and 5 1/2 year old boys both napped comfortably in the stroller. They deliver it right to your room. I highly recommend them. Way more comfortable than the plastic Disney strollers. Disney strollers can't be taken outside of the parks which was a huge deal to me. At the end of the night when everyone is exhausted walking to the bus and waiting would have been miserable without the stroller. They fold up in half very easily for the bus and my husband just held it in front of him. Even nicer getting off the bus at the resort and putting the kids back in the stroller for the walk back to the room. I can't imagine carrying a tired child back to our room each night.

Good Luck!

I'd say if they're under 5...def. rent one from an offsite vender. If there's only 1 kid and they're over 5 then I'd probably just rent one at the parks so you don't have to deal with the stroller on the bus, but just know that she most likely won't be able to nap at all in it.

Last year was the first time we rented from the parks (for my almost 6 year old at Epcot and our long MK days) and it worked out well, but there's no way I wouldn't of used a "real" stroller under that age for mine.

We've rented a citi mini from Magic strollers for two years. I love them. One handed open and close. Amazing large sunshade. True one handed steering. And a rain cover if you request it.

Those Disney strollers look so uncomfortable. Plus you waste precious park time standing in line to rent one.

I prefer the park strollers for older kids (at WDW, and other parks). Last time we rented a double for a 4, 4, and 6 year old. It was very easy to hop in and out of, and we didn't need it for the resort, and didn't want to deal with a stroller on the buses. A 5 year old doesn't need comfy cozy, just a place to sit, to be transported quickly from here to there. Renting it didn't take any park time - we get there at RD, and the transaction took a minute.

We rented twice from Kingdom Stroller and they were amazing! Answered my live chat at 11pm when our other stroller wasn't working out, put a brand new citi mini double GT together and dropped at BLT about three hours later at 2am so we'd have it next day!! Free rain cover and cooler bag but you need to check those boxes online when you order, even though they are free. Pushing a heavy older child like yours ( mine were 4 and 6 first time and then 5 and 7 yo the second time), the AIR tires on these citi minis make it vastly easier to push than the plastic park stroller's wheels. I ordered the citi mini GT which has a little more head space than the regular citi mini so better for an older child like yours. Loved the sun shade, as the sun is intense (and we are from Dallas!). I liked the huge basket and simple fold. Not an issue getting on monorail or buses. We rolled it right into monorail, didn't fold it. You do have to fold on buses, but simple. I can't recommend off site rental enough. Delivery right to hotel, perfect!! I have also used Orlando Stroller Rental and that worked fine too, but Kingdom gave free rain cover and cooler.

Forgot to add, citi mini has an adjustable height handlebar, so easy to make the push comfortable for parents of different heights.

We've rented from magic strollers once and kingdom strollers twice and will rent from kingdom strollers again for our trip in May. Kingdom strollers works out to be a bit cheaper than the rest, so we go with them. I would never use the park strollers, they're hard and look super uncomfortable....also you can't take them from park to park or your resort.

Yes to outside vendor. The Disney strollers are so uncomfortable. I know my girls still take naps in the stroller and the rentals have the ability to recline and they can get a good rest. I feel so bad for kids trying to sleep in those disney strollers. Faces all mushed in the netting trying to stay upright.

We have rented from orlando strollers and kingdom. We prefer kingdom since they are a little cheaper. Compared to the disney stroller it's practically the same price. They're easy to pick up and drop off. They fold pretty easy. I won't ever rent another disney stroller.

We rented the ones from Disney. I have a 4 and 8 year old and I wanted to save their legs. So, the park ones are larger to hold my 8 year old... were very easy to get and for them to hop in to quickly.

I don't know about napping in them though. The only person I saw had a double and had their child lying horizontally in one.

We went back to our hotel for naps in order to stay up for the late nights when we did them.

And since they were older, they managed the walks at the resort and to and from buses and such with no problem.
