Stolen Disney Pin

I'm very sorry this happened. I have over 200 pins, so I understand how sad your son must be.

I find it hardr to believe that either TSA or ME workers would steal the pins - when would they have time? While the luggage is being screened, you are watching them. However, my parents and I had a BAD encounter with TSA in Orlando. Those people have serious attitude problems, so I suppose it is possible.

Future travel tips: Always CARRY ON the souvenirs, belongings, etc. that mean the most to you. We always carry on pictures, pins, etc.

I understand that your son likes to have pins on a lanyard. I used to do this myself, until I realized how easy it is for pins to fall off, get lost, etc. Now, I keep all of my pins on bulletin boards at home. The only pins I have in the parks are the ones which I have bought.

Again, I'm very sorry for your son's loss. :guilty:

Sorry to hear that your son's pins and lanyard were stolen. I know the airports and TSA are having problems with items in luggage being stolen (someone I know works for a major airline and is the manager of baggage handling). I always pack an extra expandable bag and on our return trip put all purchases, lanyards and pins, and valuables in this bag and carry it on the airplane with me.

After a really great first time at BCV, we returned home, emptied my 11 year old's luggage and found that someone stole his lanyard and all his pins that he had been collecting the last 5 years.

Many are not sold anymore including 4 cast member monorail pins we have been trying to acquire as a set, the lighting socerers hat and Alien Encounters, along with about 14 others.

My dd10 has offered her two pins for your son. She has the blue and a green monorail pins both with hidden mickeys. :goodvibes PM me if he'd like them.

Maybe your homeowner's insurance would cover it if the amount is greater than your deductible???

At any rate, what a rotten thing to happen to your son.

We're not serious collectors, just do this for fun, so if your son would like a brand new goofy juggling pin, my DD-8 and I would like to send him to him as a jesture of good will.

PM me with your son's address, and I'll send him a surprise in the mail.

How sweet is that! Your DD must be a very thoughtful young lady...:goodvibes

Don't forget while sitting out in the hallway anyone on that ship could have helped themselves to your luggage straps so as much as you don't want to think so it may have been a fellow passenger. I found it disquieting to leave my luggage in the hallway when we cruised and made certain they were all locked although I know that won't stop someone who is determined to help themselves to my belongings.

I thought of that but the CM who was taking the luggage in our area of the ship was right outside of our room when we set it out. She had moved it by the time we left our room no more than 5 minutes later. I did wonder if another passenger might have taken it off our luggage the next morning. However, DD's college roommate who went with us realized she had left a swimsuit and coverup hanging in their bathroom and it wasn't found by a CM either. Even though it was our fault for leaving it, I would have thought the stateroom host would have found the clothes when she cleaned it.

I've always been nervous, too, about setting my luggage out like that but I sure don't want to have to drag it with me the next morning to breakfast especially since we don't use elevators as DH is claustrophobic.

Oh well, live and learn.

:grouphug: That is absolutely disgusting that someone would even do that!!! As someone said, that is a hard lesson for your son to learn that there are rotten people in the world that would do that!!! I am not a pin collector but if I was you'd be getting mine. Here's some pixie dust for luck that hopefully you find them pixiedust: . And for the person who stole them, may what goes around, come around!!

Thanks :goodvibes She's got the biggest heart! She's been collecting for 4 years and the cast member pins are her favorites, but it was her idea to give them to him. She said that way she could send some Disney magic from her to him.
