Stocking your DVC kitchen

Do you normally bring your own dishwasher detergent etc? We will be staying at OKW for the first time, and I am not sure how much I need to pack. Thanks for your input!

Well, they have always provided either a small box or a single use pouch in the past. But with the studio stuff going on, who knows how long they will continue providing the dishwasher detergent.

I always pack my own dish washer detergent (I love those new little detergent tabs), small bottle of dish soap, and powdered laundry detergent separated into ziploc bags. No worries this way because I know I'll have what I need!

We get the Winn Dixie card and do our shopping soon after check in...or while waiting for our room to be ready. Winn Dixie is just down the street from Goodings plaza.

We bring our own Dishwasher detergent (the little hard "cube" type) and our own laundry soap (because pack light and do 2 to 3 loads during our vacation, at least).

here's another thing we do to stock our DVC kitchen. I know we'll do some meals in so I'll plan basic meals in advanced: spagetti w/ pasta, chicken w/ mashed potatoes. Then when I'm at my local grocery store and I see something non-perishable on sale that would fit my meal plan (spagetti, pack of pancake mix, pack of instant mashed potatoes) I but them. Then I pack up the food in the luggage (I always weigh it to make sure its under 50 lbs!!) and use it on the trip.....of course going to the grocery store for the fresh items. One of the best things about bringing groceries is that once they are used there is extra room in my luggage for souveniers coming home!

There are other posts about this on the Mousecellaneous board here. Basically Disney has said that they are removing all the cups and glasses along with the dish washing liquid and sponge from all Studio level accomodations in the interest of the Member.
