Yes, I know it is still early :hourglass but I need ideas to give to Santa for filling DS 11 and 14 stockings.

Santa is giving them a printer and already has bright floppy disks, paper and extra ink. :cold:

Mom and Dad are giving them cash in a puzzle that they have to figure out in order to get the $$ :rolleyes1

But what will Santa put in their stockings? What does Santa do for your teenager who only wants $$ and DVD's? :confused3

I was at Target last week and they had some real neat ideas for the older child in their $ section. My DS and DD both bought a real cool colored night line and they also had some real kewl light bulbs. I plan on going back and picking up a few things when they are not with me for stockings. Hey, it is never two early.

so far for my dd11, , toe socks, lip smacker lip balm, dvd, and a couple other things i can't remember :rotfl2: This list is not handy at the moment. I agree it's never to early to start, dd's birthday is 2 days before Christmas

As a teenager, I loved receiving gift certificates. (Still love getting them now as an adult!) If your teenager loves DVD's, you can get a gift certificate to Media Play, Best Buy, etc. Or how about a gift certificate to your local movie theather?

My kids are a bit younger, but I've picked up a c.d. and watercolor pencils for DS4 and dvd and hairclips for DD16 mos. I'm hoping to find some Pop Rocks (candy) to put in DS's stocking. And I'll hit the local specialty toy store where they have a great selection of small toys (windups and such).

For my stocking, I always buy refills for my day planner and stretch gloves, sample-size lotions, etc. Office supplies like new mechanical pencils, extra pencil lead, post-it notes go over well with DH. I usually add a gift card for movie rentals or the local bookstore in DH's stocking. Also, scratch-off lottery tickets are good.

Other ideas: grooming supplies (combs, hair gel, etc.), new socks/underwear, a home-made certificate for a subscription to a magazine, batteries (for all of their electronic gear), computer games, new wallet, sports balls (baseball, tennis balls, hacky sack)....

I hope this helps!

Wow! thanks for all the great ideas. Tomorrow is supposed to be :sunny: :sunny: hot, hot, hot. Just may be a good day to hit some stores. :rolleyes1 I can always do Lay-A-Ways. Do many of you do that and then the gifts hopefully will not be found, or as soon?

Photo books, journals, nice pens, makeup or cologne for DD, ties for DS (he loves them), toys (we're never too old), magnets.

I went to a church sale on Saturday and got lots of bags of goodies for DS6. I usually put some of the stuff he will like (such as matchbox cars) in my husband's stocking and my own.

I do layaways, too. I'm limited on space so I think it's a great way to hide gifts and you can usually apply the sale prices if the stuff goes on sale. I always just take my receipt to the service desk (if it's Walmart) and ask and they'll look up everything and refund the difference. Of course it's best to do this when they aren't very busy like early in the morning.

Don't forget candy! This year, I'm buying each person 1 regular size item instead of buying bags of smaller candy -- I figure 1 regular size item will actually be less candy. Also, DH and DS love mints -- so Altoids or TicTacs will be on my list too. DD is happy with a lolly.

Santa has also been known to leave a book in mine and/or DH's stockings.

I don't do Layaway. I have a stash downstairs in the storage closet for Christmas gifts.

Santa always leaves my friend's teenagers each a big package of AA batteries. They love having them for their games, cd players, etc.

And the individual handheld games like Tetris, Yahtzee, and Poker. And card games like Skip-bo and Phase 10.

Gift certificates, scratch off lottery tickets, socks, beauty supplies, everyone gets a new toothbrush, school supplies, candy and I also look for 2-4 unusual items.

Just curious, I spend alot of time making sure that the gifts and stocking stuffers are "equal" for all 3 of my children, and my mom and MIL think I am nuts. Does anyone else do this?

ALso, one of these days I want to put disney tickets in the stockings and when they open them, say "we are leaving tommarrow!" Maybe someday I can pull that surprize off........................

If you are, then so am I. I actually have 5 grocery bags that I hang in my closet. I'll regularly get them out and count the number of stocking stuffers. I find that I usually end up with @13-18 per kiddo. A couple might be too large to put INTO the stocking, so they go under it. I wrap each kiddo's gifts in a different paper, so it is easy to see whose is whose. (Of course, being Santa paper, that is the only time that the paper is used ;) )

I usually put in the small packages of kleenex, pencils/pens, lipchap, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, gum, candy, keychains, micro flashlights, lottery tickets. . .anything small enough to go in. I've never thought of batteries! THANKS!

Yes I try to have equal $$ dollar amounts and the same # of gifts. :groom: I already do the batteries and will do it again this year. Someone mentioned night lights and I have found some at Wally that I liked but was not sure. Think I will pick them up now. Thanks for that idea!
Yes, I also most years end up with getting too many stuffers or the do not end up fitting in :rolleyes1 so I just lay them underneath as well. :goodvibes

Oh, just thought that DS 13 has a cell phone, JUST for emergencies and if one of us running late  I could get him something to go with that.

See, this is why I have to start at least thinking way ahead of time. :jumping1:

I love the stockings :lovestruc I try to put a lot of thought and neat things in them. Our tradition is to look at our stockings at night rather than in the morning when they open gifts from Santa. This way they still have something fun to look forward to.

The only problem is I just had to go out and buy the biggest stockings ever!!! It takes a ton to fill each one ;)

I see you have DS's where I have DD's so it may be a bit harder (girls are so easy to me, hair accessories, makeup, jewelry, etc)

Ideas for boys: school supplies, mechanical pencils, pens, gum, hand held puzzles, coffee mug, hot cocoa packets, hand warmers, gloves, small flashlight, swiss army knife, lottery tickets, books, winter socks, candy.

Hope this helps

And not having to fight over parking spaces and put up with grumpy shoppers!

We do this for each of our kids too. And on the plus side, the large pck takes up a lot of space :rotfl:
