So what are you putting in your Tweens stocking this year? I was thinking of a DS game, candy.....And where do you place them Christmas morning, by tree, by fireplace or in their bedroom?

fun socks, toiletries, earrings, gift cards, fresh school supplies, paperback book, puzzle books, watch, hair supplies, movie tickets, etc. It is also fun to theme a stocking: movies, w/a DVD, tickets, popcorn (or a new popcorn topping), candy, book made famous by a movie, etc. Have fun! I enjoy stockings--less pressure than the "big" gifts to get it "right"!

I like to do a bunch of $5 gift cards for various places my daughter likes to shop. She's only 8, so $5 can go a long way! Also, lip gloss, chapter books, mini bags of snacks (like Combos), bottles of specialty soda (stuff she doesn't usually get)

In the past I've done:

Cool chopsticks, jewelry, headphones, socks, scarves, small stuffed animals, stamps, small games, perfume. If it fits in the stocking it's fair game! Stockings are fun, but they add up quickly.

Cute ornament for the tree in something she is "into"- a skater, ballerina, character from her favorite movie, etc.

Can't really help you with the stocking ideas for girls since I have 2 teenage boys! But I always place their stocking right in front of their pile of presents. That way they know which pile is theirs. I don't tag Santa presents! Yes I still do Santa presents even though they are 13 & 14! :teeth:

I was going to suggest this too...although we give our DD her ornament for St. Nicks, not at Christmas. It usually fits in her stocking, but occasionally it won't, and then we set it on top of the mantel. When DD moves out, she is going to have a nice selection of ornaments. DD (now 15) has figured out she gets a new ornament every year, and she looks forward to it!:lmao:

I don't have any tweens or any girls, but I think some fun stuff would be lip gloss, fingernail polish, a set of watercolor paints, a new chapter book, cool stickers, new, pretty hairbrush, etc.

Forgot: we hang our stockings on the fireplace mantle.

I hang the stockings on the mantel and the kids really like to open them first, which suprises me since you can barely see the tree through all the presents under it. My dd this year is getting nail polish, Twilight rubber bracelets, Twilight lip gloss, newest Harry Potter DVD, a toothbrush, and some candy. In the past I have put a $15 itunes card in it too, but this year she is getting a $50 so it will be in a box under with her new touch. If I put it in the stocking then my boys will wonder why they only get a $15GC to blockbuster in theirs instead of $50

We put the stockings by the tree for christmas morning. For DD13 it will contain some candy (she loves anything chocolate especially truffles which are expensive so I buy her a small box to put in her stocking), nail polish, lip gloss, toothbrush, small hand lotion, pens/gel pens, small wallet, lottery scratch offs (I know she is only a child but, we buy each child $5 worth for their stocking and they of course get to keep anything they win). I usually pick up some other little odds and ends for the stocking if necessary.

You could go nuts at the Dollar Tree finding all sorts of stocking stuffers. They have make up, school supplies, art supplies, fun socks, candy, snacks, toys, ornaments, candles, seasonal items, etc. :thumbsup2

Lip Gloss
Hand sanitizer(bath and body works ones)
Nail polish
Socks
some magazine- usually a teen beat type
her favorite candy
an ITunes gift card
this year she's getting some Burt's Bees stuff from the grab bag
Oh some vera bradley binder clips
A VB headband
(Wow It sounds like I'm done with her stocking already) Just the 3 boys to buy for now.
