STK steakhouse atmosphere

Hi everyone! I am trying to make a few last minute dining plans and reservations before our trip in October. I have been looking at the menus for several of the new restaurants, and STK just looks delicious! I have a few concerns though.. 1. What can anyone tell me of the atmosphere? I've read its loud, with DJ music "pumping" throughout, and it may be aiming toward a younger, more "trendy" crowd. Is this true? We have a 2.5 year old daughter, and I want to make sure we can enjoy our meal as a family. I know some of the other STK restaurants in other states seem to have more of a night club atmosphere. If thats the case here, Im thinking we should skip it. Any input? and 2. How would the dining plan work here?The only info I can find is that its 2 credits, but the menu is laid our differently, with the steaks, sauces, toppings and sides all separate parts of the menu. I'm just curious what exactly is included with using 2 credits. Thanks!

I've not been there and cannot comment on atmosphere -- but everything I've heard makes me think it not a good atmosphere for my somewhat older children. You know your own child best.

As with most steakhouses, an entree is just that: A big piece of meat. Sides are separate, and on DDP they will be an OOP expense. I agree with @_auroraborealis_ you get meat. Just meat for 2 credits. All sides are an additional OOP expense
I have not been either, but everything I have read is that it is a blaring, nightclub like steakhouse, nothing like steakhouses of the past. Yes it is targeting the "trendy" crowd. I have decided, based on reviews, it is not something we would enjoy.

STK as a brand is not really kid friendly and I imagine their Disney Springs location is no different. They do in fact still have the DJ at this location and it rotates. I would not take a child there for dinner until they were an older teenager. You may feel comfortable at lunch but it is not worth the dinning credits.

Yes. The loud DJ music is played throughout the STK restaurant at Disney Springs. It is a loud, trendy, hip atmosphere in the entire building.

I am not a parent, nor would I tell you where to dine with your family. However, a 2.5 year old would most likely not enjoy this time of atmosphere or dining experience in my opinion. It is geared toward pulling people together in groups and at tables to mingle, interact, etc. It is not a family style of restaurant where you can go, sit down and have a normal level conversation at your table.

It is geared more to the bar crowd and that is how the entire property at STK is laid out and represented.

STK is very much geared toward 20-40 year olds. It's a swanky setting providing a "chic" environment, with loud music while you dine on your overpriced steaks.

Disney Springs, IMO, is geared toward the locals. It's another way for Disney to generate revenue without selling park tickets. Think about it: a movie theater, a shopping mall, a bowling alley... Sure, there's people who go to Disney and go bowling or go see a movie, but not many. Disney Springs was made for the person living in Orlando looking for a night out. And you can certainly see the transformation on a Friday or Saturday night. Raglan Road was filled with young couples during our last trip. Sure, they may have been vacationing. But a couple sitting right near us were talking as though they were just stopping in for dinner and drinks.

Disney has straddled the line between a spot for locals and a place to escape the parks. BOATHOUSE, Coca-Cola deck, Jock Lindsays and the normal stores are still geared toward the Disney guest. STK, Morimoto (Morimoto is great for both), Splittsville, the movie theater and the new stores are very much targeted toward the locals.

tl;dr: I wouldn't recommend it for a 2 year old. Not only is it too much of a party atmosphere, but it lacks that true Disney feel and it's not "fun."

Well said actually!

As locals, we frequent Disney Springs more than any other locale in Orlando. It's nice to just head over for snacks and/or dinner and drinks. We do a lot of bouncing around when we go. Never going to "just" do one location. We typically grab a starter or two here and there along with drinks. It's a fun evening and great spot to have five miles from our home

We go bowling and that is where we go to the movies as you mentioned above. This is our local spots to do all of those things. And honestly ... We go so much we know a lot of the staff at all these pots and get the "local" treatment along with our TiW and/or AP discounts. SO it is no more expensive than any other type of venue in the Orlando area.
