Stitch's Ride=What's the point?

I agree. I've asked myself that question as well. Also, I'm not so sure the attraction can really be called a "ride." After sitting through it once, I was left with the thought that it serves one purpose ... helps keep the lines a tiny bit shorter at some of the other attractions. lol

Enjoy.

The point is... there is no point, really. There is no plot. The show just goes on and on about absolutely nothing. They could've done a lot with this attraction, but now it is what is it is. VERY boring. Don't wait in line for this one folks. If you want to see Stitch, you're better off at a character meet and greet.

Walked by Stitch yesterday at MK and it was a 5 minute wait. Apparently, word is out that it is not one of Disney's better efforts. And MK was pretty crowded.

They should have kept Alient Encounter, I don't care how scary it was...

Luckily we didn't have to wait long to get on, although others were waiting 90 mins(last summer)! It was awful! The worst part was smelling that nasty chilli dog burp for hours after the fact!!

The point is that they had "Alien Encounter" and decided it was too scary (which it is if you're a small child or if you don't speak English, but if you understood, it was hysterical and I loved it), so rather than trash the whole thing and re-build from scratch, they saved money by making very minor changes and changing the "alien" from the scary one to Stitch. In my opinion, they ruined a perfectly good attraction. The current Stitch one is not worth it even you don't have to spend any time in line to get in. Skip this one.

I thought AE was sort of pointless and boring but then I saw The Stitch Fiasco last year and now I miss Alien Encounter!!! lol :rotfl2:

I can still smell that burp, and we went in March!

Honestly i didn’t like AE either...but what it was that silly Mars thing before that...so guess they are just striking out with ideas for the way into tomorrow land

I love this attraction. The point is you are a Galactic Federation recruit and a Level 3 alien gets teleported. Stitch, the Level 3, happens to escape, and mayhem pursues.

Does anyone else think Alien Encounter just suffered from poor placement? Instead of putting it in Tomorrowland, it would still be around today (and maybe liked) if it was at MGM and based on the Alien movies (which it basically was anyway).

Count me as an Alien Encounter lover. Yes it was intense and scary for little children. That's why they had all the warning signs. People should have had the common sense not to take anyone younger than 7 or so on the attraction. Kids got scared and cried. The parents got upset and us AE lovers had to take a hike. They shouldn't have messed with a good thing. Thats just my 2 cents. :)

Maybe the point is that some people will love it and some will hate it. I couldn't stand it. My kids still talk about how cool certain points of it were. Maybe adults look for the point in the ride while kids are enthralled by little things about the ride.

imagine you're 5 and Stitch is your favorite character...I'm 23, Stitch is one of my favorite characters (next to Simba, of course), and I love the Stich ride (even thought it's not really a ride). For the audience they are targeting, I think it's great. I know a lot parents don't like Stitch to begin with so that's why they don't like the ride but I also know there are a handful of us out there that love him. I do believe that they could make the ride better (maybe make it an actual ride, or get more comfortable seats or something) but overall it's not the most horrible thing I've ever been on. :stitch:

The first time I tried Alien Encounter my chair must have malfunctioned, because I didn't experience any of the "seat effects". When it became the Stitch attraction, I tried it again. The seat effects worked, but the sound was bad on my head speaker. Is it just me?

During MVMCP when there was zero line, I tried Stitch yet again. I finally got the full treatment....such as it is. On the way out I glanced at the clock and told DH "Well that's 20 minutes I'll never get back!" :sad2:

Yeah I think in this way they failed... since normally they are making something up from scratch, that's how the stories make sense! In this show you can definatly tell if youve been on AE that they are just trying to 'overlay' it.
Also AE was amazing! Really amazing. I miss it

PS: I LOVE stitch! (my car is the stitchmobile... I have 5 stitches on/in it... I look so dorky driving down the street) Buuut... I think this does hiom no justice because it isnt well executed and it is again, an overlay of someone else's story. I hate the fact that this is supposed to be pre-Lilo and his name is Stitch!!! It doesnt make sense!!
