Here's a Link to a short article on the new attraction - including pictures.

My girls just got in to Stitch a couple of months ago and now he's their favorite. Can't wait for a trip down after its open.

Thanks, Sarangel. Can't wait to experience Stitch! I do miss Alien Encounter, tho. We thought it was hilarious. But I am glad that Stitch will be more family oriented. My 6yo was pretty miffed when she found out she would never ride AE (she never met the height requirement), but is looking forward to Stitch, too!!

Hmmmmm..... I really do wish that they would have kept Alien Encounter. That was one of my favorite attractions at the Magic Kingdom. Oh Well, I guess I'll check the new ride out when I go down in November. :earsboy:

For some reason I cannot open the link. Can someone tell me when this attraction will open OR is it open already. I must say I really liked AE. I know they wanted more family oriented attractions but how is it that most of the other rides they open are thrill rides. I hate rollercoasters and this was one of the few adult rides that I could enjoy without Dramine and a blind fold.

Stitch is supposed to open sometime this fall (I can't remember exactly when off the top of my head). My understanding is that they're keeping many of the AE effects & just making them less scary & more fun.

PS. I never found AE scary just kinda dorky.

While walking by the barricaded area surrounding AE last Sunday we heard a familiar alien laughter. ::yes::

I, too, liked Alien Encounter. I also liked having an "adult" ride that was not a roller coaster.
But, I'll give this a chance. I loved Skippy and I'm glad to see that he will be in this ride.puckerup:

I'm crossing my fingers it'll be open when we're there; Oct.2-9. It'd be great to try out a new ride, and my kids love Lilo & Stitch ;)

One of the best ideas the Imagineers have ever had.

Once again I say "good riddance" to the mean-spirited Alien Encounter...it had no place in the MK.
