Haven't been on the Stitches ride yet? What exactly is it? Is it appriopriate for a 9 year old girl who doesn't like to get scared??

It is really very similar to Alien Encounter with Stitch as the main character. It isn't a "ride" but an attraction in a theater type setting where everyone is seated in a circle in seats that resemble roller coaster type seats. A good part of it is in the dark with loud noises. The Stitch animatronic character is pretty neat, but we did hear several children crying during the show. If you ever did AE, you know what it's like.
As for two adults, we can take it or leave it; probably leave it.

No one cried while we were there. I prepped my 7 yo that it might be scary. At the end she looked at me puzzled and said "that was it ??"

bump again - i would like to hear some other people's thoughts on this and so far it doesn't seem worth seeing.

i didnt think it was that good. i mean my opinion was that it was alien encounter minus everything that made it good. it wasnt scary, just stupid. i mean i thought alien encounter was scary, but at least it was good. i did not think it was worth it. i would say if you can get a fp or there is a short line try it, i wouldnt wait for awhile tho

I never did Alien (too scared lolol), so I have nothing to compare to; but that might be better for an unbiased opinion. I didn't like the shoulder harness. It was hard and uncomfortable. I also felt trapped in the seat because of it. I did, however; like the theme of the "ride, show". If they put soft pads on the shoulder harness, I'd do it again. Maybe they did already since I do know alot of people complained about it. I thought the show was funny. My son did too and he's 16. Go, have fun and ask if they have padded the shoulder harness. If not, just put an extra tee shirt, jacket or whatever you have handy around your shoulders.

if it is anything like alien encounter the it probably stinks - a very lame idea for a ride - though the old figure called "skippy" I think was very cute. If you kid hates loud moises and being in the dark then she probably won't like this "ride"

I suspect Disney is already planning something else for that piece of real estate.

My DS7 really liked it and DD7 thought it was just ok. Neither was scared. I thought the preshow would never end, that to me was very boring - I'm not into SF but again DS liked it. Overall, not bad, but if it weren't for my son I'd be happy to bypass that one next time. ;)

I rode it yesterday. I thought it was a complete waste of my time. I never rode AE, b/c I hate being scared. There were kids crying on the "ride". You have to sit in the dark just a bit too long with nothing going on.

One tip on the shoulder harness: It will stop coming down when it senses your shoulders. So I sat straight up and as tall as I could get. Therefore they stopped early and I could then just sit back in the seat w/out them pressing down on me. They get tighter througout the show. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more had I not done that and gotten the full effect of it. But both of us thought it was kind of lame.

My DD5 was a bit scared when it was dark, and just didn't like it in general. I also thought it was boring and have no desire to ever do it again.

Rode as Alien Encounter. Few weeks ago DS (15) and DD (11) went on with DH while I stayed out with child who would not like aspects of it. DS said it was basically the same ride with a different character. His point was that people were taking their younger kids in because it was Stitch and yet it was the same premise as Alien. They said LOTS of kids were screaming the whole time. I think if your child doesn't like to be locked in their seats in the dark, with smoke, loud sound, and other effects........then skip it. Rather ride Buzz ride twice, meet Stitch outside (which I did with other DS) and not ruin the day.
