I've never been on Stitch's Great Escape and was really looking forward to it this May when we go back to WDW....how come so many people list it as one of the things they will never do again? :guilty:

I just think it is a waste of precious time when you can be in so many other great rides/attractions/shows in the MK! It is verrrry dark to begin with. You sit in those extremely confining seats (uncomfortable) and it has been awhile since I was on it as I went ONCE after ALIEN ENCOUNTER left there and hated Stitch so we never bother with it anymore. Something about Stitch and someone getting out of some "test-tube" thingy in the middle of the theater...wierd...

Now do not get me wrong I LOVE STITCH but just not the RIDE.

Other Posters I am sure will voice their opinion on this and give a much better description and reason than I did as to why they do not like it...!!!

Sorry!

Hello everyone!!
I was lookng forward to ride Stich but need more details...so many people talking about not going in again on my last visit (2004) it was under construction and looking promising...I cant wait to get to the world!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

It's not even a ride to begin with... more of an extremely stupid special effects show that isn't very well executed. An attraction like this one that depends on recreations of bodily gas emissions to "entertain" a confined audience is just sad. I expect it to last for 8-10 years tops.

First of all, you should try the ride for youself, its not as unbelievably lame as people will tell you. Theres a little pre-show bit where you are the new recruit at the prisoner facilty and basically Stitch is the newest maximum security prisoner. You are then lead into the main attraction. You sit in a seat and a harness comes down over your head-TIP. Sit up as high as you can until the harness has stopped coming down-it rests on your shoulders and can be uncomfortable. If you sit up really straight, you can relax down once the harness has stopped. Then Stitch is transported inot the centre of the room. He escapes and the lights go out-after that its all special effects-he runs around the room behind you, jumps on your harness and generally behaves in a Stitchy manner LOL. WARNING, he steals a chilli dog to eat and then burps-you will smell chili dog right in your face, you may want to hold your breath when you hear the words chilli dog! Then he runs around a bit more then escapes-end of attraction.
Harmless fun really, and its at least different to any other ride at MK

It is one of the few rides at DW that my family will never do again. We have ridden it only once, and none of us enjoyed any part of the ride. Ride it for yourself and make your own decision, you might be one of the people that enjoy the ride.

My DW and I don't enjoy the it either, but last year we "endured" it 7 times. Our DS6 absolutely adores Stitch and had to go back again and again and again until we put our foot down and said "NO MORE!!" I thought it was kinda cute the first time, but would not willingly go thru it again on my own, but for DS its not so bad I wouldn't "endure" it again. :teeth:

We are in the minority. While I don't think it's the best attraction, I don't think it's as awful as everyone says. My dd LOVES it! I think it's cute. I just love the watch the animatronic Stitch, he's so cute. I knew before I entered, not to breathe in a for a few seconds when he burps, so I was ready for that part.

I'm one of the enjoyers of this attraction. Yes, its not a ride. Same theatre and interior as before, just different character. We always stop there a couple of times if the lines are short, because its a Disney attraction. Others think the Tiki Room is lame but we enjoy that also.

If the ride is that lame, why is there tons of people lining up for it. I'ld rather do Stitch than Buzz Lightyear and day.

I liked Alien Encounter.
(Many riders HATED it and were very vocal here about that).

I like Stitch, too.
(Many riders HATE it and are very vocal here about that).

I don't think it's nearly as bad as a lot of posters have stated in the past. It's not the greatest but it's not that bad either. My DS6 LOVES it  which makes it a must do for us. Definitely ride it and see for yourself. It's not geared to the mature and reaches a rather small audience. But the ones it appeals to enjoy it immensely.

I totally agree -- please visit this attraction at least once if you've never seen it before. Then decide. I love anything Stitch so I'm in the like department here. It isn't much of a change of the goings-on when it was Alien Encounter - it's just softer and less scary (for younger patrons).

I say try everything at Disney at least once. Attractions are in the eye and experience of the beholder!!!

 Ely

I like Stitch, the character, but the attraction?!? I actually felt used after experiencing it! I felt insulted that Disney would have such a lame attraction. JMHO

I'm not a fan of this attraction and agree that I'd rather use the time to do something else. I'm not a Stitch fan either though and find him more obnoxious than funny or cute. The supposedly funny burp during the show sealed the deal.

We did Stitch on our recent trip... I would not wait in any long lines for it, but DS12 and I went on a EMH night, no wait. Although it was not my favorite by far, it was not as bad as I had expected after all that I heard here. I would recommend trying it once for yourself. DS12 loved it. Although he does have a warped sense of humor. :teeth: do hold your breath when you hear the words chili dog. :crazy2:

Disney couldn't pay me to ride(or whatever) it again. It is awful, not nearly as good as Alien Encounter, which I was a fan of. We did it last year on our trip and I was extremely disappointed, I thought it would be great. I find it hard to believe that an attraction that is new could be so bad, the imagineer's missed the boat on this one.

I agree with the other posters who said try it yourself, but I wouldn't waste much time in line for it. My kids were not impressed (three boys ages 9, 12 and 16) and my husband and I thought it was very blah. Just not much to it. In trying to water down the scary Alien Encounter experience, Disney managed to come up with an attraction that's not scary, but not a whole lot of fun either... just very average. (The pre-show is somewhat entertaining though.) Like another poster said, sit up very tall and straight when the shoulder bars are lowering or the bars will be pressing down into your shoulders throughout the attraction. And the "chili dog" smell is truly repulsive! I'd say we would never wait in line for this attraction but would probably do it again with no wait just because it's there.

I liked it a lot better as alien encounter. I have walked on both times as AE and Sitch. I think its ok to ride once if there is not much of a wait but i know I would have been pissed if i had waited an hour for the ride. The Chili dog burp is just plain gross it make me feel more sick to my stomach thanmission space

I never went on Alien Encounter so I don't have anything to compare it to....Thanks to everyone for their responses. In my head I am kind of comparing it to the Figment Ride....except from what I gather this is in the dark. Thanks for the advice on the Chili Dog Burp....I wish someone would have warned me about the Skunk Spray on Figment....LoL

I would like to ask all the STITCH fans: WHY are those seats so CONFINING.

I mean it is after-all NOT a ride. It has been so long since I was on it (although I did love AE) I don't remember if the seats move, BUT I don't think so, so why are we locked IN so???? :confused3
