I have read Yeti's answer about how to get the Stitch hat. I was wondering (for all that have the Stitch hat because they booked a Disneyland vacation) when did you get your codes? Yeti says when you get your vacation package. So, when you get all your info in the mail? or when you arrive at your hotel? I was hoping it was sent with all your confirmation paperwork.

Let me know.

(We are planning a trip but don't want to wait until fall of '07 to get my codes)

You receive the cards w/ the paperwork that is sent with your tickets/room confirmation, etc. There is 1 set of cards per reservation not per person on the reservation.

Just so you know.... they send you the paperwork after you pay in FULL and about 2 weeks before your trip.

They don't send your paperwork right away? They wait until 2 weeks before your trip? That does not make any sense. If they send them with your reservations then you should get them a few weeks after you make the reservation.

I figured you would have to pay in full.

Anybody else have some info on this one?

It's how they do it. They send the paperwork 2 weeks or so before the trip. Really truely.

I should have realized you had to pay in full, which makes total sense -- can't have people booking a trip, getting the info/cards and then cancelling. The only time I've gone to DL (and got the Stitch cards) I paid in full when I booked.

When did the Stitch code promotion begin? We went to DL last January (1-29-06 to 2-3-06), I just looked through my whole paperwork packet and there's no code. Did the promotion begin after our previous trip?

Yup. I really wish Yavn had said you need to book and pay in full to get stitch. I bet a lot of kids tried to book it.

Also if you cancel the reservation after getting the paper work(2 weeks out), there is like a big fee they charge... you could buy the hat on ebay for less than the fee they charge if you cancel that close to the trip (I think it's one night's stay, or maybe is't $150 bucks... but a big number for sure)

Not sure when they started it... hmmm I was there last Mother's day... it was going on then.

Also you had to have booked the package ONLINE... room and tickets. HTH

Stitch set comes in your final documents about two weeks prior to your trip after trip is paid in full . Trip must include hotel and park tickets, You will get initial confirmation on package but no cards till final package. As it has been mentioned before there are now hefty fee for cancelling trip after deposit has been made

* 30+ days prior to arrival - A non-refundable $100 cancellation fee applies once deposit or full payment has been applied
* 29-6 days prior to arrival - A non-refundable $200 cancellation fee applies
* 5-0 days prior to arrival - A non-refundable $250 cancellation fee + 1 night no-show applies

Note: no fee will apply on reservations booked and canceled on same day

Stitch package is only showing on reservation till end of April 07 , now if it is going to be continued who knows. Bookings are online only : NO PHONE Calls
or through a travel agent booking online via the Disney travel agent site.

It started Feb/March-ish 'cause my trip was mid April, I made my ressies about a month prior and at the time, there was no info on booking it online so I called -- the CMs had to dig out the info to figure out how to book it. Right after that the info came out saying it had to be booked online.

I did book it online. Hmm, either the promotion started after our trip or the card was left out of our packet. I'll email Disney and ask about it. Thanks guys. :)

Edited to add: Looks like from Aeryn's information our trip could have been right before they started the promotion. Oh well. Maybe I'll get lucky and Disney will send the code so we can get that neat hat for my daughter's character but I won't hold my breath. There's always next time! :)

My understanding is that you have to book plane reservation too - is that not correct? We will be going in October and I am willing to book online and stay at the resort - but no point in flying there as it is fairly close and easier to drive.

Don't you have to book the airfare too?

I just plugged in hotel and tickets reservation and the VMK Virtual reality package was added to the screen.... I also did just hotel and it did not show up soooooooooooooooooo

Hotel and Tickets but not airfare is needed... HTH

But from the looks of it, it ends in April 2007

No, airfare isn't part of the package needed to book. Just room and tickets.

I really wish there was a way for me to book a trip and get the hat but we don't have that kind of money in my house. :(

I'm going to have to wait too. But at least we're going again in February of 2008 so it's not that long of a wait. We'll miss the Stitch hat but hopefully they'll have something else that's neat to have.

You can stay at a 'good neighbor' hotel as part of your package and still get all of the perks. Also, the park hopper tickets that are part of the package are discounted right now. Adults pay kids prices for tickets. I think that offer is good through the end of March.

My husband and I just returned from five nights at HoJos (very nice, and right across the street from DL's entrance), and had five day park hopper tickets. Our package cost $905.00 total! The only thing that was not included (you can include it, but that didn't work for me, as I had a coupon that I wanted to use), was the transportation back and forth from the airport (LAX), airfare, and of course, food. The ground transportation was $52.00 (Super Shuttle) total for both of us, and airfare was $10.00 each round trip from Maryland on AirTran vouchers (!!!!), for a grand total of $977.00 all inclusive (except food)!

Anyway, that simple package included the Stitch cards, so make sure you play with the package options. The package is more doable than most people think.

The popup for the Stitch cards says that you have to book by Dec. 31st, 2007, but if you punch in dates for later this year, the Stitch cards are not listed in your package details. I'm not sure why.

Hope this helps someone who might be playing with the idea in the near future. :goodvibes

Stitch hats on e-bay run about $260 :rotfl2: thats more expensive then the cancellation of the trip! but that is probably because they have it packaged with all they got from the trip. (are they really worth that much $?)
