Welcome back Xena!

So, did you do any shows, eat anywhere good?

I'm still hoping to get to Vegas when we go to that wedding in Phoenix late September.

We saw Anthony Cools hypnotist show. It was good, but some friends of ours had seen a show like that and the gal went up on stage so they bought the video and we watched it. So this show seemed so similar that I felt like I had almost seen it before and it was a different hypnotist even. I think it's fun to see, but for me I wouldn't need to see it again. And FYI: NOT FOR KIDS!!!!!!!

We ate a lot of good food, but all kind of basic stuff. A couple buffets, The Outback, some basic food court food, Monte Carlo has a great food court and we like to have cheap and quick sometimes! Excalibur has a deal at their buffet if you pay $25 at breakfast you get free food all day. We didn't do it but thought it was a good deal. We had dinner there and it was buy one get one free before 6:00 so that was like a $19 dinner for two.

We rented the cabana at the pool on Sunday and I swear that is my favorite day in Vegas. I would rent it every day if my DH would let me. Just lay in the sun and sleep all day and then go out and party at night......I think it would be perfect. But he thinks the one day is enough! It is truly so heavenly though. If you can do it I highly recommend it. And the way I see it you save money because you aren't putting bills into slot machines all day and throwing $5 and $10 chips onto table games. True, you can't "win" in the cabana, but you can't lose more than the price of the cabana either!

Hi girls how is everyone this wk? It has been ugly here. But it is sunny today!

Yes, today and tomorrow are sunny. But let's not talk about what the 5 days after that are going to be like. Let's just linger in today and tomorrow ok!

Xena - Sounds like you had a great trip. The cabana does sound wonderful. That is all we did in Jamaica was lay by the pool and beach all day. We were out there by 8am and didn't go in until 5. I could get used to that life.

Someone mentioned Monte Carlo is having great deals b/c of the construction going on near there. How was the construction noise?

It is rainy & gloomy here today, but near 70 so at least it is warm. We are supposed to finally have some sunshine this weekend and 60's. It rained on & off last weekend so we need a rain-free weekend.

Monte Carlo always has good deals in our opinion. That's why we stay there! I can say that there is a HUGE construction project going on right next to it, the new City Center. It is so big we would walk past it and I swear it takes almost 10 minutes walking time to leave the Monte Carlo and go past the construction site to the next hotel past that. It is so huge you can't believe it. It has like 10 tower cranes. But noise, not to me. When I was out by the pool I could hear some stuff going on, but nothing annoying. Inside my room I never heard anything.

Sun ~ I did think of a good meal that we had that you should try if you like Mexican. We had the best Mexican at a restaurant in the New York New York. I just tried to look it up online and I think it might be Gonzalez y Gonzalez. It had the best salsa, I'm telling you! We asked if they bottled it for sale, but they said they don't because it contains no preservatives. So good.

Hey! I'm waking up our thread.

How was everyone's weekend?

Mine was good except that DD has strep now. BLAH! So, I'm working from home today. The doc was so busy, we waited for 1 hour before being called. Then we were in and out in 10 minutes!

DH and I went downtown on Friday night to have dinner w/ a friend of mine and her b/f. We drank way too much and I paid for it dearly on Saturday. Saturday, we had a communion party which lasted all day until 9:00 at night. Sunday, just ran around a did a lot of errands - oil change, windshield repair, eyebrow threading (YOWSA!), grocery shopping, etc, etc.........

So, how was your weekend?

Oh yeah, insert major stinkeye here that my DH is going to the Blackhawks game tomorrow night.

What killed me was that Keisha (I think it was keisha) did not rush at all when she saw Jamie and Cara come up to the eating challenge. I was yelling at the tv "just shove it down and eat it!!!" When I saw Cara (I think it was Cara-I keep mixing up the names) come up and start to inhale that food, I said to DH, "they are going to make it to the mat first."

Oh no! I'm so sorry your DD is sick. Poor thing!

I got a really bright orangy color on my toes and a pale pink on my fingers. sometimes I do get flowers and stuff but I didn't this time.

My toenails are on the verge of neon which I like cause it makes me look more tan! LOL!
