I was cleaning my windows and in the groove where the screen fits into the frame there is like a pile of dead straw or grass with several stinkbugs in it (some of them were still alive). I am grossed out beyond words, but here's my question, are they nesting in my windows, and if so, how do I keep them out?

I hate these things. I am now imagining little stinkbug eggs flying all over my house. I may never open my windows again. Yuk.

No they aren't nesting. they only lay eggs on the backs of leaves. they will not lay eggs inside.

:) I looked this up a while ago because I was worried about the same thing lol

Thank you. Do you know what the grassy stuff is then? Prior to the stinkbug invasion, I never saw anything like that in my windows.

People can debate this all day long but the fact of the matter is you wont be able to keep them out. They'll penetrate whatever barrier you put up. I found a couple stinkbugs crawling out of my air vents recently. Just learn to live with them.

Oh, were we debating?

I just wanted to know what the grassy things in my windows were and if they were stinkbug nests. I don't think there's a debate going on.

????

the question wasn't how to keep them out lol the question was "are they nesting inside"

I am not sure what the grass is other than they may bring it in.... they eat leaves and grass and such.

I have also had the grass mess in the track for my screen. It is only on the left side and only in the back windows. I think they are fly nests because there are times I have a lot of flies in my house and don't know where they came from so that is what I'm thinking they are. Don't know if this is the right answer or not.

I noticed the same kind of thing in my bathroom window. The stink bugs at my house are not as bad as they were at the beginning of the winter, but we'll see how it goes this summer.

D-Con? Seriously? I'll have to keep that in mind.

I read this thread yesterday. I opened my bedroom window since it was so nice out yesterday. Didn't see any signs of stinkbugs. Last night watching tv in bed there was one crawling on my ceiling :scared1: Haven't seen any in a while - guess they are starting to come out again :(

Two stinkbugs were in my bedroom last night. I really cannot stand these things and I wish someone knew something about how to get rid of them.

I have Home Paramount come and spray my house 4x a year. When I brought stinkbugs up to them about a year ago they basically said that there was nothing they could do.

Ewwww stinkbugs! It's good to know they like to lay their eggs outside but how do some people get so many in their homes then?
