Stingrays Clearwater? sudden case of paranoia fear

So we will be in Clearwater end of August,, I know about the stingray shuffle.. we did it last year at Ft. Myers beach... but been reading how bad they have become... Not sure if this is bad press etc....

With my kids, we were be in the water right near the shoreline where they supposidly mainly are... Now I am scared... seriously...

I do not want a stingray sting ruining our trip.. We are planning a week of Disney AFTER the beach...

How bad are they in clearwater.. can you see them??

I was worried too (we're going next week). I mentioned it to friends who live in Clearwater. They said its so busy in summer that stingrays really aren't close by during the day and not to worry. So apparently, I'm going to try not worrying
