Still waiting to close on resale!!!

Okay, I know this is one of the problems buying resale, but the seller lives out of the country and it is taking forever to get the documents back, but I'm not worried yet!!! My question is once the closing company receives the info, and files it, which I think takes all of a day, and Disney then receives it, how soon can I make my reservation, I want to go to VWL November 28 - December 3, 2003 in a 2 bedroom. At what point should I try to make these reservations???? Thanks

Disney usually has you in the system within a week of closing. Sometimes just a couple days.

Hang in there. Our closing took forever as well.

thanks - we were supposed to close December 5, but unfortunatly the seller is living in England, and to get the papers notorized he had to go to the US Embassy or something like that!!!!! Plus it took almost a week and a half to get the documents to him!! I will check back with my agent (Pat Spell at the Timeshare store) on Monday, she has been great.

We are buying 230 pts. at OKW through The Timeshare Store. The owner lives in S. Africa, so I'm sure that is adding to the time. On Dec. 9th, we mailed in our papers and the cashier's check. (The deposit and initial paperwork was done about a month prior to that).

We hope to have it all finished in January, as we want to book a week in mid-Dec. 2003 at OKW.

We closed through the Timeshare store with Pat on December 9 and were in the system 4 days later and made reservations then. Friday the thirteenth wasn't so bad after all! We got the reservations we were hoping for in May.

Once it's submitted to DVC they can take up to a month but usually take only about a week or so so notify the closing company of their decision. Once that's there and all of money is in, closing can happen at any time. After that it's usually a week or so before you're in the computer.

Spoke with the closing company, they have received everything, just waiting for the payoff from Disney, which they have probably already received as I type this, they said they will close it today, and I should be in the computer by right after Christmas!!!!!

We just sent in our cashiers cheque on 19th Dec. and we're suppose to close on 23rd Dec. Of course, I don't expect to close on time. Our seller is from Switzerland and it seems that everything is taking twice as long as we expected. I can't wait. I'm taking my DH, DD, DS, DM, and DD with me in Nov. of 2003. Hang in there though, it will all come through and it will be great.

We are also waiting to close on our 150 points at WL that we added to our 400 HH points.

We are already contemplating MORE points from resale, but there has to be a limit - or doesn't there?!!!!!
