ME!!!!! Clay can sing but I can't seem to picture him as an American Idol which in my mind is a pop singer (maybe I'm wrong). He seems like a performer for plays or even Vegas shows and I don't mean that in a bad way. I can't stand to watch him sing because his expressions drive me crazy. I find his facial expressions extremely annoying. I agreed with a comment Simon made weeks ago where he said something to Clay like you sound better with my eyes closed.

However, I do think he's going to win because he seems to have a huge fan base, this thread proves it! I can't believe you guys would take all that time to vote and vote so many times. I do like Rueben but not quite as much as I did a few weeks ago. Does anyone know how long the show is going to be on tonight?

It's a 2 hour show tonight so the first hour and 50 minutes will be filler. Probably promoting the tour, playing the voted upon video (I hope it is Rueben's one with the song "Must Be The Money" and those ever present FORD commercials. (I'm a Chevy guy myself).

I have AT&T wireless so my wife and I both used text messaging. Probably got through as many times as everyone on this thread combined. AND, we voted for Rueben so all of your votes have been cancelled! (Hey, he's a Big Dude!)

Anyway, there is a hockey game on tonight so I will be upstairs watching that while my wife is downstairs screaming for Reuben.

No necessarily true. I live in mid-Missouri and I could not get even one vote in. I finally got so tired that I went to bed before the 3 hours were up. I really, really, really want Clay to win and if he doesn't I will have to live with the guilt that if I had just stayed up longer maybe I would have gotten to vote for him at least once.

Are the majority of men voting for Ruben and the women for Clay? Dh prefers Ruben and I prefer Clay. If that is the case, Clay will win!!! How many men are going to vote for three hours solid?

I had to go to my nephews high school graduation last night so I taped AI. I got home about 9:30 Central and rewound the tape to see what number Clay was. I voted for 1 1/2 hrs. and only got through 8 times. I watched the tape of the show while I was voting and I just couldn't believe how Ruben sounded. Is it or me or did he have an off night? His voice seems to be winding down. I guess it is tired. I think the winner is a toss up. I love Clay and will buy his CD whether he is the winner or not. I'm sure if he isn't, he'll still get a deal because he is AWESOME!!!

BTW, my DH walked into the room as Ruben was singing and said, "Who is that? He sounds like s***!" I still like Ruben, but LOVE Clay! Go Clay!!!

I just heard a reporter say that the producers are saying the votes are so close that they still aren't sure who the winner is. That it is so close if this were an election there would be a recount.

I bet they crown them both AI and give both of them a recording deal because it is too close to count.

I am not really suprised to hear it is that close. I am sure both of those lines were busy the entire 3 hours so they would pretty much have to get around the same number of votes. They need a better system for this.

I tried calling from 755pm CST to 1115pm CST and did not get thru at all!!! I could get about 10 redials/minute in and tried for over 3 hours. That's well over 1500 attempts. Am I pathetic or what???
It was the first show I wasn't able to call in and vote for Clay!

At least it sounds like enough people here got a Clay vote in for me.

I think they're both so talented, but both so different that it's a shame they are in the same contest. They're styles aren't comparable, so why have to pick between them. Oh well...

100% Disney, I heard the same stuff on the AOL board and the official Fox board, too. I need to stay away from these other boards, they are making me too nervous!! I'll be very disappointed it they have it be a tie, that will just suck! They need to crown a winner! Clay, of course! My niece and her husband are coming over tonight just to watch the show with me!! My parents think we are sick, sick people, but we don't care! I was also thinking that I'm going to go thru a withdrawal after tonight, what will I watch now? It will be like returning home from a WDW trip, the letdown will be horrible! Well, I guess I can buy the CD's!

It's nice to know that everyone out there feels the same. Yes, I too am one of those sick, sick people who are addicted to AI. I know others who are more sick than me (You know who you are). What's really bad is that I am leaving at 5am for Disney, and I am more excited about seeing Clay and anticipating another performance than I am about my trip.
