Still pooling all credits for dining plan?

One other note — we paid OOP for our child (not to save credits, but to get him an adult meal because the child meals looked boring; he's much more adventurous than chicken strips and macaroni) the next night at Sci-Fi and had no problem. Maybe it's only for buffets???

I am having problems with my computer, so I am unable to view the 2006 .pdf brochure on the dining plan, but I thought something looked a little different on it when I viewed it a few weeks ago. For the character meals I thought it said something like "everyone in the party will be charged 1TS voucher." Or maybe it was for Signature dining and it said "everyone in the party will be charged2 TS vouchers."

If they decide not to let you share meals we definately will not be doing the DP. I think alot of other people would do the same.

I think there have been issues at Chef Mickey's about paying OOP for kids off and on for months. I've been watching for these threads and it seems like a few servers/managers enforce a no kids OOP there but I haven't heard of this happening anywhere else as consistently. I can understand it to a point but for those of us who plan for 7-8 TS meals when our DDP only covers 6 we should be able to choose which meals we pay for especially because in terms of my kids I planned to pay for seated places where kids meals are $5 and save their credits for Chef Mickey's and Ohana our last days where the meals are $12. In the end I doubt I'll save by doing this because if we are getting desserts my kids will want them too so I'll be spending as much at the OOP places anyway with drink, tip, etc.

Unless Disney does start to differentiate the credits on your account, there really isn't anyway they could enforce this supposed "rule". Let's say Jr. went off with Grandma and Grandpa for the day and they ate lunch at CP, using one of Jr.'s TS credits. Whereas, Mom and Dad spent the day at the resort pool sharing a CS credit for lunch (this is exactly what we did in Sept.). Now let's just assume Chef Mickey's is the last TS of the trip. When settling the bill, there will be 2TS credits left. How can they tell you what you will pay?

I too remember reading that this problem pops up from time to time at CM's, but I think it all depends on who you get. I think it is funny that we don't seem to hear this from any other restaurant.

In Dec. we had 2 extra TS credits and went to Sci-Fi for lunch. There was 4 of us total, me, DH, DS10, & DS9. Our server allowed us to split two full meals. The real adults split a full order of ribs while the boys split a cheeseburger and fries. Since we also had 2 appt. and 2 desserts there was more than enough food. She also had the cheeseburger cut and served on 2 seperate plates when she brought it out.

On a side note, she allowed the boys to get shakes as their drinks. However, on the way to use the restroom I overheard another waitress telling someone else that shakes would be considered their dessert on the DP. So, I guess it all depends on who you get.

I just can't see how they can forbid you to order child OOP when they let you share meals and pay for a guest with dining plan etc.....

What are the Jan. dining plan experiences like........................

I can only speak to my experience the first week in January. We were 5 adults and 1 child. We did have gueast at many of our meals, and paid OOP for our guests. The little one used her child credit. We did not ask to pay OOP for her, On Sat, we ate at CG, and brought my niece. The little one was not at all hungry. The CM said to pay OOP for her and use her credits for my niece. We spent the same amount, because we used the extra to buy a nice bottle of wine. This was the only restaurant we used child credits for
an adult, but had 4 additional guests at several meals, and were happy to buy their meal. I would have cringed at CG to pay so much for one meal, and throw the other meal away.
