Still Feeding Nebo: The may trip final chapter pg 122, Dec. 31

Hi kids. Boy oh boy, am I in a smiley mood right now. (read, sarcastic)
The cops just showed up at work today with eviction notices. I love it. Starting to look like there will be no problems whatsoever getting time off for the sept. trip. :happytv:
Now, don't you worry about us, and I mean that. As long as we give up eating, we have enough money saved up for the rest of our lives.
Why do you think I sound like such an idiot on this trip report?
This is my escape.
And all of you, have helped me, no, US, immensely, cope with it.
Thanks.

Funny I get that look from the kids :lmao:

with all that is Disney you had to wait until after 4pm to get your Room that just stinks....but I feel the Disney Magic will show up soon!!!!

:cool2:
Actually Patrick, us and the magic took a little bit before we both met up. As you will soon see in the next chapter. But, hey, even when things dont go perfect, WE'RE STILL IN DISNEY!

What, no pictures! It's ok. I have been to CBR before. I was just kinda hopin' for some current pictures.

You sure do like messing with Smidgy.
You have hit it right on the head. Smidgy is my lover, my best friend, my spiritual advisor, and my wife. Not to mention the person that sometimes gets me to the point of banging my head against the wall. But, I said, not to mention, so, I won't.

However! I have a SHIPLOAD of pictures of Coranado Springs, when we get there. So, I hope you stay tuned.

What, Nebo, you did not mention my trippie????????????

Just as a point of interest, there are currently a couple of places running tests on Room Ready coordination between Front Desk and Housekeeping, to get rooms as soon as possible and to meet requests. It's a TEST, I repeat. But there may be hope for sooner room availibilty in the future and better match for requests (no smoking rooms though)
THe ugly truth is, either you get your room early, or else people complain that their room is not made up until late in the day. The economics dont support both. So live with it!

People are going to whine either way...........

Hi Smidgy, Hi Nebo :):smokin:
Hi Marita, best friend, old pal. Here, these are for you.:flower3:
Yes, we know how the sysem works, but when you get lucky on many previous times, the one time you get hit, it comes as a surprise. But we still did get our Upgraded Room.

Thanks for the mention... hopefully soon I'll get my eyes back so i can continue it...:cool2:

Another thoroughly enjoyable installment, by the way!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Thanks Becky, geesh! When I see something that concerns eyes, I take notice. And I had to go back and re-read four pages to see if I missed something. Then, the nickel dropped in. I checked out your update on your report in the pre-trip section.
Yep, there it was.
You should be beaten!

I hope your daughter hid them in the cat litter box! :lmao:

Finally caught up loving every babbling word, can't wait till the next installment.
Holy Cow! Um, WELCOME! How in the world , does someone sit in front of the computer, and when asked for a screen name, come up with THAT? And especially with the 05 after it? Like, there were already 4 spongemommies already taken. I'm sorry, hey, you said you like babbling, well, there you go.

I finally got caught up this morning--yeah, can't sleep. Somehow I missed Thurs. night's episode, so when I read this last one, I felt a little lost and had to scroll back for the "prequel"! Diane should have told the CM at the front desk that you only had a shoe phone, sorry.:rotfl: And that the number was confidential.

I hate that I missed all the cheeto conversations. We only eat stale ones here--we have a vending business (which I thought was going to be way cool at the beginning 3 years ago), but what actually happens is DH only brings home the OUT OF DATE chips and stuff. Actually cheetos take a long time to get stale. It's the Fritos you have to watch out for, even before the date runs out.popcorn::

Yay, you're in Disney finally! I can't wait to hear about your adventures!pirate:
Yes, I agree, somethings are much better on the second day. Homemade chicken soup for one. Spaghetti for two. I WILL keep an eye on the Fritos though, but we don't buy them often.

So sorry to hear about the problems at work. Here is some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: that things will work out for you.

Janet

Hey Bro I understand your pain.....well not really but I was hoping to make you feel better :lmao: ...I can say in 2000... DisneyMom (karen) & I invested 500,000 dollars in a Mortgage company only to end up Losing another 250,000 before it was over & the only thing that made us sane (as that was our entire Life savings plus A mortgage on our paid for house) was taking a trip to Disney...so see you in the World & the 1st Manhattan & whatever Diane drinks is on me!!!!!

AWWW MAN. I'm sorry Steve. How long do you have to get out? Maybe you'll get paid to move stuff. That'll do your back some good huh!

Have you been looking for work know that yours was going downhill? It seems like there are always ads in the paper for machinists around here.

Of course you may not want another job quick unless you can negotiate the time off for Sept.

It'll all work out in the end. Have everything crossed for you. Keep your spirits up.
Angela

Thanks for the shout-out Nebo!:flower3:

If it had been me out in the sun waiting that long for the pool they would have been paying for my medical bill after I had turned lobster red.

So now I guess the question is.......................................................
How many CM's does it take to change a lightbulb???

Holy Cow! I didn't say that, she did. Boy, hope BackstageGal doesn't read this. :rotfl:

No, crunchy, and no. just my 2 cents.;) I loved this last installment.:woohoo: Is the room ready? the often repeated question. it never is. Never early.
The first time in WDW many years ago, on a better late than never honeymoon, we stayed at the Poly. Arrived at 11, and the room still was not ready at 5. I'm a redhead, we ended up getting a concierge room in Hawaii, with first night free. Never been upgraded since!:rotfl2: Maybe i'm flagged!:lmao:
To be honest, Burly, most of the time we check in, our room is ready, this is really the first time that we had a lengthy wait. But, then again, we have never stayed at the Poly.

I've heard lots about how great your trip reports are, so since I made today a "Work is stupid let's DIS" work day, I decided to catch up on yours. I had to stop to post about this though.

I've driven from Nashville to Spartanburg several times for work. Easy, peazy, right?
So one time I decide to not leave Nashville until after a Dr's appt. With my mother. Who is one of those LOUD passengers. If there is a car two miles away, she screams "Watch out for that car!!!!"
Let me tell ya -
the part of 40 that goes through the mountains - ya know, after the pigeon forge exit but before Asheville?
SHOULD NOT BE DONE IN THE DARK!
It is sooooo scary! You can't see anything! You don't want to put on your brights because the people on the other side of the interstate can't see either and blinding them is not going to help.
I was gripping the steering wheel so tight, I had to give my ring to my mom cuz the blood was making it hard to hold on!
Ha.
It just made marks in my hand, no blood. But it's a nice visual, right?
That second tunnel with the artificial light was so welcoming - I didn't want to leave it!
Ok.
back to enjoying your report.

Celerystalker, you actually almost seem like you don't know me. ?
This was a great post, so glad that someone besides you and lexmelinda have experienced that part of the ride. But,,,,,,
Evidently, you have forgotten how I tried to take away your title.
You being the 100th person to post on Kay's report.
And I challenged it.
But, the courts overturned the challenge, and you recieved the comenorative gift plaque, and the 25 dollar gift card for "Pet Salon".
commemorative. ? Remember?
Nice to meetcha Celery.

NEEB!!! You actually mentioned meeeee! :yay:

I got a cameo! A shout-out of sorts! THANKS!!!! My head is swelling!!!! :sad2:

I was just looking at a CBR map and it looks like you had a decent view. Did the AC work all right? I like my room frigid.

Post pictures when you can, Mister!
Yes, my dear Wendy. The ac worked just fine. Too Fine. It had one setting. Polar.
And I don't mean Warsaw.

Great episode and hey, you have Tags! :thumbsup2 Wasn't it not so many months ago you didn't know what a tag was!? You have ARRIVED, whereas I am still tagless. :sad2:

Wow, and Marita got a tag from hanging out on your thread, too. That means you have doubly arrived since this means the Tag Fairy is lurking on your thread.

On that happy note, I'm off to find a corn dog, puffy Cheetos, and an accordion to play while I compose some German lyrics for the William Tell Overature.
Hi Kay, man, nice to see you. Yeah, I got tagged, I guess persistence pays off. Now, if it wasn't for that thing they embedded behind my ear,,,,,,,,,

I may just have to do a cut and paste the next time when it's time for an installment and I can't, you know, of the Dr. Suess thing at the pool. That is still a classic.

Holy Cow! I didn't say that, she did. Boy, hope BackstageGal doesn't read this. :rotfl:
:

What did I say????

Steve, Nebo that really in-hales greatly about the job! On the bright side at least you knew it was coming.........which reminds me of a story that would make you smile, but I better not. It's not really disney friendly. I think I've gotten a case of Nebo..........rambling. Anyho, I'm sorry about the job. I'm looking for a garder and I think the neighborhood mom's would love a Bruce Willis look alike!

THIS IS REALLY JAIME - I WANT MY COMPUTER BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Neebs... you need any tips on still doing Disney while making next to zippo bucks, I'm here for you! ;)

Plus, you know the old saying - when one door closes (or gets padlocked)... :headache:

 to you and Diane.

Oh, I'm sorry nebo  Sending some :wizard: your way, and hoping you find a new job soon!

Since I'm not smart enough to quote partial posts:

Not sure where she hid them... I found them 2 days later exactly where I originally left them... think I scared the pants off of someone and whoever hid them was smart enough to put them back!!! Sorry for the confusion... I assume everyone reads my trip report :lmao:

Sadder note... sorry about the job; that really bites... i got a reject letter in the mail last week for a job that I was told I was a shoe in for:confused3
poverty sucks... so does worry over it. So I am getting over it by spending 4 mortgage payments on a trip to Disney...:rolleyes1

Hope things get better...

Hey Nebo and Smidgey!! Can't wait for the next installment!! Sorry to hear about the job, I know how nerve racking that can be. Good luck and thank god you still have your sense of humor, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't come here and get my daily laugh!

Some things we have learned since we moved to Texas:

Giving young children Roman Candles is not always a good idea.

Multishot mortars that misfire, and land under Grammy's chair. Not as funny as you would think.

A bottle rocket gone astray can dent a garage door. And a car door. depending on what it hits first.

Getting hit with a spent mortar shell hurts more if you do not have a shirt on.

Bare feet, bad idea.

Just buy the margarita machine, renting one every year is a waste of money.

Can I come to your house on New Year's Eve?

Nebo - I knew we talked and smidgy is over on another board and talks to us, but sometimes you don't feel like you KNOW someone until you read their trip report. Ya know?
You and smidgy sound like you're a lot of fun.
If you still make it in September, I'd love to meet you too.
And I would say you could just stay with me at Bonnet Creek, but at this point I've invited Marita, HaleyB, MommyPoppins, a family of 5, my mom and my sister. Plus my partner Tammy.
If you don't mind being crowded, come on over!
And it feels like you're on site cuz you can see Pop Century and Carribbean beach from there.

So I'm finally caught up. I'm glad with 40 pages you're at least on Disney property. Jeez!

And now my answers to the survey:
Question #1- Were you born when Nebo played the accordion?
A-I was -11. But my mom was 17. and my dad was 19
Question #2- Crunchy or Puffy.
A- Puffy. The crunchy ones are nasty.

Question #3-Do you know anyone who doesn't own a cell phone?
A- My 92 year old grandmother does not own a cell phone and when I bought her an answering machine two years ago, she returned it. My mother and father, who are both older than you, each have a cell phone. And use them. And retrieve voicemail.
Maybe my mom can teach you if she comes to WDW with me in September. ;)

What are your dates again Nebo?

My friend invited hubby and me to go to (I think Bonnett Creek) WDW Sept 27 til Oct 1st...

Sorry to hear the inevitable finally happened...P&PD coming your way for things to go well for you soon~

#1 - since mine was used as the example you now know I was -2
#2 - crunchy!
#3 - My 18yo DD but that's cause she uses a prepaid phone that she never puts minutes on

sept 22-oct 1 POR:yay:

:cool1: :woohoo: :thumbsup2

tigger - if you go, look for me!

Here's a pic -

Heh.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Anybody gonna be near Uni on the 28th or Epcot on the 29th?

My tentative itinerary is Universal (for Halloween Horror Nights) on the 28th and Epcot for the F&W festival on the 29th. We fly in on the 27th, not sure what time yet-probably late because of work :(

The 30th will most likely be spent at the resort. I like to give hubby a day to go fishing, I'll use that same day to hang out or possibly meet up with some DISer friends maybe ;) hint hint...
