Still Confused about One Aspect of FP+. Help?

So I'm understanding most of the new FP+ information and how to best use them, but I'm still unsure of use for park hopping. Most days we do one park in the morning and a second in the late afternoon. If I use the 3 FP's in the morning, am I able to get more FP's at the second park? And must I be at the second park to get them, or can I use the app or browser to get them? I know you always had to use your tickets to get into the park to get old FP's, so I'm wondering if it's also this way with the new FP's.

Disney site says, "Additional FastPass+ selections must be made at a FastPass+ kiosk within the same park as the FastPass+ experience that you wish to select, and they can be made at a different park from your previous selections." I think this has confused me more than ever.

Did any of that make sense to anyone?:confused3

In your example, you would use your first 3 FP+ selection at your morning park. Then when you get to your late afternoon park, you can get a "rolling" FP+ selection at a kiosk. You will not be able to get it from the mobile app or a kiosk at a different park. The rolling FP+ must be used before you can get a 5th, 6th, and so on.

So if I go to MK in the morning and use all 3 scheduled FP's, and then get a rolling FP (and probably a 5th, 6th and so on), and then plan on going to EPCOT at 4, I can't get FP's unless I actually go to the ride and get one?

Once you get your 3 in advance, you won't be able to get more until you use them all or your time window passes.

So if you have 3 scheduled at MK and the last one ends at 1pm..you can head to Epcot and get a fastpass there at 1:30. When you ride that ride at Epcot, then you can go to a kiosk again in Epcot and get another fastpass.

So right now you can only select 3 fastpasses in advance through the computer/app. Then you have to go to a fastpass kiosk at whatever park you want and book 1 at a time after that.

So if you book a ride or fireworks late at night as one of your advance picked 3, right now with their system you won't be able to select extras since you have to ride the ride or let your time window past

Has anyone been able to get a fireworks or Fantasmic FP as an extra? Or all those all gone way in advance?

The whole kiosk thing sounds like a pain to me. Any clue why they won't let you do it on a phone with the mobile app?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read on here that if you got your 4th FP at MK you could then use the app to change it to a FP in another park? Perhaps I just read it wrong. :confused3

I did this this weekend. I thought it would be a real pain, too, but I didn't really find that to be the case. It was simpler than I expected, and lines weren't too bad.

You do nit need to go to the ride. Once in EPCOT, you can do it at any kiosk or CM with a tablet.

I think PP meant that you must go on the ride and use the Fast Pass first before a second one can be issued at a kiosk or a CM with a tablet.

1. Can you get the "rolling FP+ in a park that you are visiting in the AM even if you have 3 FP+ scheduled for a different park later in the day?

2. Is the rolling FP+ in categories in Epcot and DHS or can we choose any attraction that is available once we are at the park?

Sorry if these questions have been asked/ answered! There is just so much information to digest!!

TIA :flower3:

1. No. You must have used your original 3 (or their times must have passed) before you can schedule a rolling pass.

2. The tiering appears to not apply for the rolling FP+, though there may be limited availability for the headliners.

okay...thanks so much!

If park-hopping from morning to afternoon, I would think strongly about scheduling my FPs for the 2nd park, Morning FPs have less value because lines are shorter. Also, if Epcot is the second park, it may be difficult getting a quick rolling FP for Soarin and Test Track, which increases the value of having one of these rides already in the bank.

Just wanted to add for #1 that you COULD do the reverse. Let's say your plans are MK in the morning and Epcot in the evening. Your best bet would be to schedule three FP+ for MK in the morning (and use them), and then use the "rolling FP+" for Epcot at night. This way you can maximize FP usage and won't be exempt from the additional fast passes by scheduling your three FP+ at night.

The only issue with this strategy is that headliner FP+ might not be available in Epcot later in the day.

Hi,

I'm new to this website/board. My family and I are planning our Disney Vacation for Thursday July 10th - 17th. I chose my fast passes Saturday night. ( I was most excited about getting Anna & Elsa!!) and dwarf mine train) I really got everything I wanted, and there were plenty of options. I planned all my FP is the morning, so that we could get the rolling FP in the afternoon. I am wondering, what is the line like for the Kiosk? We are not park hoppers, and prefer to stay in the same park each day. So, for example I have 3 days planned at MK. The day we arrive we will get to MK around 11 am. and finish our FP around 4 enchanted tales with belle, but then we are having dinner at Be Our Guest. So will we have time to and options to get rolling FP, right before dinner? Am I going to have to wait in line for more than 10 minutes getting the next FP. What is your experience?

Also, how long is the est. wait for the actually fast passes? We haven't been in 2 years and I can not remember?

And..Sorry

With all the FPs does like make the regular lines shorter?
