We are trying to figure out the best way to book everything for our next trip. We're staying 10 days/9 nights in Sept or Oct (depending on discounts we can get). We want a 9 day park ticket but not really 9 days of dining. We want to save $ & bring more of our own food but still do some nice meals and some counter svc. Can we get say 6 days of dining (especially if they offer the free dining) and 9 day magic your way tickets? When we split the tickets to 6 day and 3 day--the savings is gone in the ticket price. Any ideas? We also have AAA and Disney Visa and would consider getting an annual pass--there are too many options--help! :scared1:

If they offer the free dining, why not take it for all 9 nights???

You have to purchase dining for every night booked. However, here's a way around it.Book a split stay. For example:
First stay: Book a 6 night (or how many days you want dining for) MYW with dining and 9 day park tickets. You'll just have to make sure you use all your dining credits prior to midnight of your first "check-out". If you don't use them, you'll loose them!
Second stay: Book room only. You already have your tickets. You are free to do what you want with food. If you plan accordingly, you may have credits you can use until midnight of your first day of this second stay.

They may let you stay in the same room, but there is a chance you may have to change rooms. This may also be a great opportunity to try out two resorts. They'll transfer your bags for you.

Good luck!!!

To answer the basic question, the dining plan is associated with the number of nights in your resort stay, not your park tickets.

But if you stay 9 nights on the same reservation, you would have to take the dining plan for the entire 9 nights. This is where the split stay described by the previous poster comes in.
