Still Can't Decide: November Trip

I still have two sets of dates booked for November and I can't decide which one to keep. As I need to make dining reservations soon, I have to make the decision. It will be me, DH, DS2, and my parents. We don't care much about holiday decorations. We are more interested in lighter crowds (even though I know crowds will be a bit heavier due to the 60th this year). The choices are with potential crowd factors for each:

1. Sunday Nov 1-Wednesday Nov 4 (partial park day on the 1st and leaving on the 5th, so full park days the 2nd-4th). Nov 1 is the last day of Halloween Time.

2. Sunday November 8-Wednesday November 11 (partial park day on the 8th and leaving on the 12th, so full park days the 9th-11th). Nov 11 is a holiday and Avengers 1/2 Marathon starts the 12th.

Which one would have a better chance at lighter crowds?

I think either would be good, since you're going in the middle of the week and it's in between holiday seasons (HalloweenTime ends Nov 1 and Holiday Season officially starts on Nov. 13)....but the first set of dates, out of the two, would probably be less busy, JMO.

I don't think there is any question that it would be the earlier set of dates for lower crowds. There will already be some holiday things going up before Halloween and other things will probably be in place or soft opening by the pre-Veterans Day weekend (such as It's a Small World Holiday). That means that a lot of people will show up that weekend. So if lower crowds are the main priority, go from 11/1 - 11/4.

All I can tell you is we have gone before during that time of year and we have researched it to death for this year and we'll be making our yearly trip during the first week of Nov.
The most important thing to us is small crowds and critical (to us) E ticket attractions being up. While it's hard to know if any major surprise maint. will shut down something important, or Disney knows and isn't warning us (they do that), the odd's are it will be a great time to go.
The following week is a convention of a particular genre that will bring in lots of people to the park.

I've been researching our trip to death myself. We're taking our DS5 and DD2 Nov 2-4 (arriving on 11/1 driving back to Utah on 11/5) and everything I've been able to find dealing with the crowd levels says that the park should be nearly empty. IMO we'll probably see crowds similar to what is happening now so if you get a ride time app and check that during the day I'd bet you'll get a fair approximation right now. Lower crowds was definitely a priority for us as we want our kids to experience as much as possible and not feel like they're lost in a sea of people.

Space Mountain will go down around your first set of dates to remove the Ghost Galaxy overlay, but I'm not sure when. If memory serves, it's typically only down for a day or two to remove it, but I might be wrong.

We arrive the week of the 8th. If I could get out of family and work engagements, I'd go the week of the 1st. And if my AP didn't expire mid-month, I'd got the week of the 15th. Veteran's day week is definitely busier than the other two surrounding weeks, comparing our 2013 trip to the much better 2014 trip.

I'm going the 8th-10th and have been researching like crazy also, from what I hear the first 2 weeks of November aren't that bad.

We will be at DLR nov 3- nov 7.

It seems as if the consensus is to go the first week rather than the second week. How crowded do you think that last Sunday of Halloween time will be?
