Still a wait with boarding group?

The extended backstage line is really rough on hot days, fun to see random characters sometimes walk by or Spiderman fly, but the line never moves.

Honestly I think it's due to the long pre-show rooms. If attraction was just "walk on" I doubt they'd even need BG system, as it would load around same speed as Toy Story.

Agreed. Of course, I understand the desire to try a new ride...it's only natural! But the ride is very underwhelming, and not worth any significant wait time. It feels shorter than midway mania, and when compared to the jewel that is ROTR....oof! Sadly, we weren't very impressed with the rest of the land, either. When we went, we were so peeved to be kept out of Guardians due to the ridiculously long line into the land. I want to try something from Pym's, but I'm not going to make a whole lot of effort when we go in Sept.

FWIW, it's easy to just enter the land and get food from Pyms now. We did if twice last week. We actually really like the new seating areas near the Hyperion Theater. It's full of shade trees and the music loop is great, plus its steps away from the Hollywood Lounge. We like to eat our Pyms food here and just sit for awhile with some drinks. Skip the cocktails from the Tasting Lab,though, unless you like your drinks syrupy sweet. They are all premixed so you can't get them altered and the honey buzz cocktail tasted like straight honey. Yuck. Get a drink from the Hollywood Lounge instead, unless you want to try one of the beers from the Tasting Lab, which my husband said were good.

The preshow is unnecessarily long. They should just set up TV monitors throughout the line playing the video. It reminded me of that annoying preshow for Flight of Passage.

I almost feel like WDI does that on purpose to control guest flow.... as no one I've talked to actually enjoys long pre-shows or understands the story line anyways. Even on my first ride on WS I was hoping the pre-show room would "do something" more, maybe turn dark or have projections around walls.

This has been an illuminating thread. It sounds like a lot of discomfort for a mediocre ride. Are any of you glad you went through the wait for the ride? Would you do it again knowing what you already know?

Yes to trying it once however a big no to 'would you do it again'.

One ride was enough and not worth the long wait or BG stress at 7am. I don't care if I ever ride it again. I have a lot more fun on Toy Story, but that's just my opinion. If you're a big comic book/Marvel fan it might be the other way around. Plus the whole web shooting thing felt weird- Toy Story and Buzz make more sense holding a "cannon/blaster". By the last screen on WS I was over it. 🤷‍♂️

As mentioned previously I highly doubt it would even have Virtual Queue if they simply removed the pre-show (felt like 5+ minutes of watching a TV screen). Apologies to sound like a Debbie Downer, I just feel like the hype is overrated and unnecessary queue system for a basic attraction.

We skipped the long wait because we had a DAS so we entered right into the preshow room. Then, the ride glitched and on the last screen, our movements didn't do anything, and it was the big finale level. Miraculously, we still earned a score for that level, which tells me that our movements weren't really doing much in the way of actual gameplay. It's mostly an illusion. I wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes for this ride, to be honest. We all like Toy Story much, much better.
