Plz can someone say how to make things into stickys? there are about a dozen forums which should be made into stickys right now! (Yes, this should be on the FAQ part of the DIS boards, but there is currently nothing on it)

Threads worthy enough to become a sticky are generally determined by a forum moderator.

In the VMK Forum on DIS, generally the threads that become stickies are ones that provide information key to playing a game; for example, a players guide, code lists, furniture guides, pins guides, etc to name a few.

Other stickies benefit the community. One in particualr is the teleporter network sticky; that became a sticky because it is a valuable resource to the community in the game to meet other DIS'ers and provide a common place to hang out. Another is the VMK name sticky; that helps us recognize the DIS'ers and their virtual conterparts!

As far as forum use : All FAQ's regarding the "how to use", "how to post" and the like, those are usually in the main DIS forum menu or UserCP and not on the VMK forum.

BTW: I believe your question relates to the Airlock Escape Guide and why that is not a sticky. If you look in the Players guide, a link to that thread is already there.

In order for the threads to be "stickied" they have to have some use to all of us not just some people. Like an example with the "Post you're names" that was stickied because it was important to all of us so that we know if somebody belongs to the dis or not.

I was actually trying to get Mal's thread about space suit codes stickified, as well as my one about herbie codes. I don't think it's right for them to sink lower and lower down the thread listings.

Moderators and webmasters are the only people who can make sticky threads. Generally, threads are made stickies at the discretion of the moderators (or in this case moderator--me).

If you have suggestions for a post that you would like to see become a sticky, you can send me a link via private message. I will determine whether or not it should be a sticky based on the content and how it benefits everyone on the boards.

Right now, we have seven sticky threads on the board--that is a lot more than you'll find on most other boards here on the DIS.

Pokemon_Master, it is very unlikely that we would add an additional 12 sticky threads to the top of the page, as that would push down the regular threads halfway down the page.

Pokemon_master, those threads really don't need to be made into stickies. Not everyone in our community uses them, and they are not vital information that would benefit new players to the game who are visiting our forum for the first time. That type of thread is not really something that most people will use once they are able to get their hands on the item in that thread.

If we start sticking those threads to the top, then people will want trade threads, thank you threads, etc stuck to the top, and before you know it you'll have 30 sticky threads.

Your best bet with threads like that is to use the search function to find them and bump them up from time to time.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.
