Steve the Crocodile Hunter

What a tragic accident. :sad2:

He was such an infectious character who was always entertaining to watch. How sad for his young family and all his co-workers

I was so shocked to hear this terribly sad news this morning. I loved Steve's passion and enthusiasm for life, he will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to his family. God bless Steve.

I agree with all the comments here!

It is a sad day, we have lost one of the greatest natural entertainers in Steve and he will surley be missed! He educated and entertained with all his programmes.

We will have all his programmes to keep his work going as well as his dedicated team at Australia Zoo.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends, he was too young to go, with two young children!

Heard this this morning, very shocked.

I'm sure all our thoughts & prayers are with his family

What a loss. :sad2: I want to echo what everyone else has said here. Steve was such a dedicated and enthusiastic character who really made a difference to a lot of people's knowledge of 'dangerous' creatures. I was devestated to hear the news this morning - we have really lost a great guy. My thoughts are with his poor family.

Sara. :)

I am very sad, I loved Steve and his family. He was so down to earth and full of life. :sad2:

Sad news. I feel so sorry for his young family. We swam out at the Great barrier reef last November, its such a beautiful part of the world. At least he lived his life doing what he loved.

I too heard this morning on the way to work and could not believe it and still can't. Really enjoyed watching his programmes and seeing how he cared so much for all the animals and all the interesting facts he would tell you about.

The irony is I am still learning through Steves death as I never knew there was a barb in a stingrays tail!

My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children,

R.I.P Steve, one of the best. :guilty:

Such sad news, I thought my friend was kidding me when she told me what had happened, I too thought it would be a croc that got him in the end.
:guilty:

DD Beth 7 saw this on the news about 5 o clock and was still sobbing well past her bed time just lying in bed. A true reflection on how kids saw Stevo and how his personality reached people including kids.

This is the first time I've seen the troops show emotion for the death of a celebrity.

DD was saying, this evening, that everyone at school and Brownies was talking about the accident

She, too, loves watching him on TV and was, obviously, upset when she realised who everyone had been talking about :sad2:

My dd did not understand what the news report was about as she is only 4, and does not understand death.
she was just so excited to see "Stevo" on the TV, it was so sad however also moving to see how much she liked him.

Really sad, our thoughts are with his family. One small consolation is that he was doing something her genuinly loved. He was throughly emersed in what ever he did.

RIP Steve Irwin

Steve

This is just so sad. Emily was really upset about it - we were only watching him during the summer holidays. My thoughts are with his family.

I was so upset when I heard about steves death.
I watched most of his shows, and used to sit with my feet up on the chair cringing...he was fantastic.

"crikey what a beauty!" May he rest in peace.

And my sympathys go to his family...xxxx
