Steve Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple earlier today.

Though they were careful not to say it was because of his declining health...he alluded to it in his resignation letter.

He remains on the Apple Board...and as most of us know he's a board member at the Walt Disney Company as well.

Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004...making his presence in 2011 almost a medical miracle.


The reason i say this is because Jobs is a rare business influence on TWDC - somebody who in recent years bucked the trend of "bucks first" in favor of a more quality oriented approach...and regrew Apples business to reap the rewards of that approach.
They recently passed microsoft to become the most valuable technology company in the world.

He was the guidance of Pixar...and his presence - if it were to go away - will be sadly missed.

Disney and apple stock has drop 1.5 and 5 percent respectively in after hours trading since this afternoon.

Everyone on boards such as this are always looking for people in "Walt's image" and mold....
...this guy is probably about as close as we can reasonably expect to get in this corporate consumption world.
