Day 3 – Tuesday 2nd September

This morning we got up and went straight into Disneyland Park without having breakfast – we wanted to get in there for the Extra Magic Hours as soon as we could!

Since most of the EMH rides are in Fantasyland, we went there first. We did Peter Pan’s Flight, Pinnochio, Lancelot’s Carousel and Dumbo.

We wouldn’t bother queuing for any of those, but being able to walk onto them was lovely! We’d never done the carousel before, so that was something new. The horses were rather difficult to get on and off!

Once we’d done the rounds in Fantasyland, we went over to Discoveryland. I went on Space Mountain twice, the first time with DF and the second time by myself. It was far rougher than I found it when we went on it on Sunday night – I understood my mother’s problem with it then!

We went on Buzz Lightyear (I lost to my father again. Damnit! Will I ever beat him?), and then went back to the hotel for breakfast. Today we were in the Manhattan, which wasn’t as nice as the Park Side Diner. The food was up a couple of steps from the tables, which was slightly awkward when holding a plate of food!

After breakfast we went for a walk around the Cheyenne and Santa Fe hotels. DM and I LOVE the theming of the Cheyenne – it’s so well done!

We got to Walt Disney Studios just as the Toon Train came out. I was expecting an actual train rather than a truck! We didn’t bother hanging around there, and went through to the Studio Tram Tour.

Following that we went into the Animation Gallery, where I drew a bouncing Mickey Mouse head, which was quite a nice personalised souvenir.

Since we didn’t know what else to do in Studios, we went back to Disneyland Park. We ate our lunch (rolls DM had made at breakfast again!) sitting on a bench at the back of Adventureland, and then went to the Cabane des Robinsons.

We grabbed Fast Passes for BTMRR, and then got the Disneyland Railroad from the Frontierland depot (which is in the back of beyond!) round to Main Street. We left the park and went back to the hotel, where my parents had a cup of tea.

About an hour later, we got back to Disneyland Park for our FP time for BTMRR. The FP queue was far longer than it had been the day before – we were right outside, rather than one or two groups away from the front.

The steamboat Molly Brown was just coming in as we got off BTMRR, so DF decided we should go on that.

I was reluctant, since I wanted to watch the parade from on Main Street and wanted to go and get a good position. But we went on the steamboat, and then went over to Main Street. As I knew it would be, it was difficult to get a position. Where I ended up standing wasn’t too bad at first, but then a father put his daughter on his shoulders and almost completely blocked my view. Which was irritating. Also, the Beast was conspicuously absent from the princesses float!

During the second ‘stop’, DM moved nearer a float to try and grab one of the sparkly streamer ribbons, but the wind blew them to the opposite side of the street. Some CMs picked up the ones from the road, but they only handed them out to children. I think that’s a bit mean – okay, I get that more children would want them than adults, but I wanted one!

The three of us were hungry by this time, so we decided to go to the Cowboy Cookout Barbecue in Frontierland – we’ve been wanting to go there for a while, but we always manage to get there when it’s closed. This time we got there at quarter to 6 so it was still open. It was very messy, but quite tasty. It was dark in there too - DM managed to knock over a cup of water! Tut.

We went on Pirates of the Caribbean again, and then went in to see the dragon under the castle on our way out. We left the park and went to McDonalds for dessert again. I had a strawberry milkshake which, while it wasn’t as nice as the one at Annette’s, was only a sixth of the price!

Bed was calling us all by this time, so it was back to the hotel for us.

Really enjoying reading your report, love the hats!

Sounds like a good day, love the trip report. We are really considering the Cheyenne Hotel for our next visit, think we will go and check it out while we are there in October.

Awesome Trippie missish! You've taken some great pics and it is nice to see someone else who likes to just check out the atmosphere of the other hotels :)
I must get my trippie done from last month before the memories start to fade!

Another great day, lovely photos:goodvibes
