steam mops

i have always wanted to get one of these. i checked on qvc and there are two types of Haan steam mops. one is red and white and says Steam and sanitze and the other, the less expensive one, does not. which one do you all have?

I have the Haan steam mop and love it also! The one that I bought came with 2 pads, and a carpet glide. I can't remember how much I paid for it, but it was a today's special value when I did buy it. It steams up fast and is easy to push.

I use it on ceramic tile, and linoleum, but will soon have wood laminate in my kitchen.

I was going to buy a Shark, but after researching it, I decided to get Eureka Enviro Steamer. I LOVE IT!!! It got good reviews on Amazon. There is one review on there that compares a bunch of different steam mops. I am very happy with it, and I recommend it all my friends!!!

Based on this web-site:

and reviews on Amazon.com we are buying the Bissell 1867-7. Ordering it tonight in fact. Hope we like at well as most others.

I've heard the Shark has a cheap feel and doesn't have a swivel head.

UPDATE: Used it for the first time over the weekend, I LOVE IT! Heated up very quickly and was very hot. Lots of steam! No chemicals and easy clean up. Tossed the micro-fiber pads right in the washer. Super easy to use and the head swivels which I understand the Shark does not. Great feature. On amazon the light green one was $65 and the white was $120 or something. I went with the green. It hides in the closet, doesn't matter what color it is.

Can anyone tell me how much square footage you are cleaning? My entire home is tile floors. I want to get one that will clean it all; I don't want to have to wait 2 hours for a unit to cool down. I've read a lot of reviews but can't really tell what is best for a lot of square footage.

I just got this, and used if for the first time over the weekend. I love it too. In terms of using it - it holds about 12 oz of water, which lasts for 15 min it says. You can re-fill while using it - the light will let you know when to add more. After you re-fill, just give it 3 min or so to heat up again. I bought extra pads to start with so I can do my whole house at once. My kitchen, entry, dining is all tile - maybe 500 sq feet. Then the bathrooms are all tile (3 of them). Also, our basement is all tile - about 900 sq feet of tile there. Althgether, I use 1 cloth for all 3 bathrooms, 1 for the 1st floor, and 2 for the basement. I changed pads while in use too - you just have to be careful not to touch the hot parts.

I refilled once for the 1st floor, and 2x in the basement. Overall, about 60 min of total time spent on the floors, but I do have a lot of tile to clean...

I have the higher end Shark and I love it. We have white tile in the kitchen, hall and bathroom and hardwood everywhere else. I find that it does a great job unless something is really stuck on there but that's rare. It also dries fairly fast. I have never had a problem going from one end of the kitchen to the other and having it still be wet.

The basic shark does not swivel but the pocket mop one does! I am glad you like the brand you bought I absolutely could not live without my steam mop.:)

bumping..my Shark seems to have died on me. It's about a year old and simply won't steam up to do any real cleaning anymore. Can't figure out why it just suddenly died? :confused3

Do you have hard water? It could be built up with deposits from your water, someone told me to run white vinegar in mine every month to keep it cleaned out, have not done it though!

I love my shark...however, it did stop steaming after a couple of months. So, I put some CRL in it while it was plugged in and after 30 minutes or so...a black clog:scared1: came out and it works BETTER than ever!!!!

I do love my shark steamer!!!

Great idea! Our water isn't too bad, but does fall on the hard side. I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks :thumbsup2
